Forgeweave brings the Tinkers' Construct 2 way of building gear to modern Minecraft. You do not craft a pickaxe. You cast a head, carve a handle, bind them together, and the materials you chose decide what the tool can do. Forgeweave is a new implementation with its own code and its own art, written to match the 1.12 generation's rules and numbers.
What you get
Modular tools. Pickaxe, hammer, excavator, lumber axe, scythe, mattock, kama, shovel, broadsword, longsword, rapier, cleaver, warmace, katana, scimitar, shortbow, longbow, crossbow, shuriken and more. Every tool is built from parts at the Part Builder and Tool Station, and each part carries its material's stats and trait.
Materials. More than 140 tool materials: the vanilla set, the classic cobalt, ardite and manyullyn line, a self contained ladder of thirty new ores and alloys with their own traits and a Nether, End and Overworld split, and existence gated presets for other mods (Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, Immersive Engineering, Create, Draconic Evolution and others) that only appear when the mod is installed.
The smeltery. A multiblock furnace that melts ore into molten metal, alloys fluids, and pours them into casts. Ore yields scale with the core you build it around: Standard, Nether, End and Deep. Fuel matters: lava, blazing blood, molten magma, brimspar and pyrealloy each burn hotter and melt faster. Mobs that fall in become blood. Seared furnaces and reservoirs round out the block set.
Traits and modifiers. Every material brings a trait, from the familiar stonebound and jagged to a library of parameterised behaviours: damage that scales, effects on hit, self repair, soul steal, mob capture. Modifiers go on at the Tool Station and spend slots. Traits and modifiers can be defined in datapacks, and KubeJS scripts can register traits with runtime callbacks.
Armor. Part based plate armor with plating and maille parts, its own station, armor traits and armor only modifiers, and an overslime buffer.
Leveling. Tools and armor gain experience from doing what they were made for: mining, fighting, shooting, blocking, taking hits. Each level opens one more modifier slot. Off by config if you want a flat game.
Gadgets. Slime sling, slime boots, slime islands to find them on, seared and clear glass, and the rest of the small things.
Integrations
JEI categories for every recipe type including melting, alloying, casting, fuels, core transforms and entity melting. Jade and WTHIT overlays for casting progress and smeltery contents. Ponder scenes for the smeltery, seared furnace, reservoir and core tiers, and an in game guide book. Draconic Evolution's fusion crafting makes three Forgeweave metals and upgrades evolved tools. KubeJS support for traits.
Two art sets
Forgeweave ships two sprite sets. Forged is the default, new original art. Legacy is a built in resource pack with the art the mod shipped before the redesign, for players who prefer the classic look.
Status
Forgeweave is in beta. Save compatibility has held since 0.4.0 and every release ships with a save compat test corpus. Report problems on the GitHub issue tracker.
