Summary
Rune Enchanting replaces vanilla's enchanting table with a simpler, exploration-driven system: find Runes in the world and socket them into your gear using an Anvil.
The mod
Rune Enchanting creates a new system to empower your items:
Find runes in chests or by breaking mob spawners

Apply them to items with an Anvil

Each material has its own number of sockets (slots), more for lower tier items (e.g. Wood has more sockets compared to Netherite)

You can extract runes as you wish with Grindstone
Curses are a special type of rune that don't use up a slot and increase the max slots by 1. Curses are unknown and using items will let you learn them.

Fully configurable: each rune can be disabled via data pack and changed via config options. Balance as you wish.
73 Runes + 23 curses as of 1.3.2.1
