Anima
## ★ About **Anima** is a **free NPC platform** for Paper and Spigot. Spawn as many NPCs as you like, style each one, give it behaviour, and let other plugins build on top of it — all with no lag and no config files to write. Anima runs on the latest Minecraft versions. **Anima is 100% free** — use it on its own, or as the base for addons. ## ★ Composable traits An NPC in Anima is a **carrier**: an empty shell onto which you stack **traits**. A trait is one capability — looking at nearby players, following a path, acting as a merchant, running a dialogue, and so on. Because traits stack, a single NPC can do several things at once, and each trait can come from the core or from an addon. You build the NPC you want by combining the pieces you need. ## ★ 100% packet-based Anima NPCs are drawn entirely with packets — there is **no real entity** on the server. That means thousands of NPCs cost almost nothing in tick time, never wander off, and never interfere with mob caps or AI. Your server stays light no matter how many NPCs you place. ## ★ Per-player appearance The same NPC can look different to each player. Skin, name, hologram lines and pose are all **per-viewer**: show a quest-giver's name in the player's own language, reveal an NPC only to players who unlocked it, or change its outfit per rank — natively, without duplicating the NPC. ## ★ Always up to date Anima is driven by **PacketEvents** instead of version-specific NMS code, so it works on new Minecraft releases **immediately** — no waiting for a per-version update. One jar, validated from **1.20.2 to 26.x**. ## ★ In-game editor Everything is created and configured **in-game** through a GUI — there are **no config files** to touch for NPC setup. Spawn an NPC, set its look and traits, and attach **actions** (run on click, on approach…) built from composable **conditions**, all from the editor tools. ## ★ Virtual interaction layer Even though NPCs aren't real entities, Anima gives them real presence: proper **hitboxes**, **projectile raycasts**, and an `NpcDamageEvent`. Combat, spell and minigame addons can make NPCs targetable and damageable — no real mob required. ## ★ Storage NPCs and their traits are saved through a pluggable storage layer: **JSON** (default), **SQLite** or **MySQL**, with an open provider so addons can share the same backend across a network. ## ★ Developer API Anima ships a clean, versioned API (`anima-api`). Addon authors can register their own traits, actions and conditions, drive per-viewer appearance, move NPCs, and listen to interaction and damage events — the whole platform is built to be extended. ## ★ Commands & Permissions | Command | Description | |---|---| | `/anima tools` | Get the NPC editing tools. | | `/anima create [name]` | Create a new NPC where you stand. | | `/anima list` | List existing NPCs. | | `/anima remove` | Remove the targeted NPC. | | `/anima hide` | Toggle NPC visibility. | | `/anima action add|list|clear` | Manage the NPC's actions. | Alias: `/an`. Permission: `anima.admin` (default: op). ## ★ Compatibility - **Paper / Spigot** — validated on Minecraft **1.20.2 → 26.x** - **Java 17+** - **PacketEvents** — required (managed by the core) - **Storage:** JSON (default), SQLite, MySQL
