ZonedClimate

This mod changes how temperature is distributed across the Minecraft world. Instead of relying on the vanilla temperature noise, the mod creates large-scale climatic zones(bands) that stretch across the world from east to west.

You would probably spawn in normal temperature zone, by travelling to South you would face warmer biomes, by travelling north - colder.

Also, the temperature pattern follows a repeating cycle: normal -> warm -> hot -> warm -> normal -> cool -> cold -> cool -> normal -> warm -> ...

Compatibility

The following mods and datapacks have been tested:

ZonedClimate should work with world generation mods and datapacks that do not modify vanilla temperature map.

In other words, mods that change terrain generation, continents, erosion, landmass distribution, or similar world generation systems should generally be compatible as long as they do not replace or fundamentally modify the vanilla temperature climate system.

The humidity map is not replaced by the mod, so humidity-based biome selection continues to use the vanilla system.

Important

ZonedClimate changes the temperature values used during biome selection. It does not directly replace the biomes or biome definitions themselves.

This means that the final biome distribution still depends on Minecraft's biome parameters. Different biome generation mods or datapacks may therefore produce different results even when they use the same temperature system.

Development

WIP ZonedClimate is still being developed and is untended to be used in my own modpack called "Who Ordered Stone?". Noise between climate zones will be refined over time.
