ColorFloor
Follow the color. Keep your footing.
ColorFloor is an arena-based color survival minigame for Paper. Join the lobby, watch the floor shuffle, and move onto the announced color before the other blocks disappear. Survive the rounds and keep the game going!
Features
Requirements & compatibility
Server implementation: Paper. Spigot, CraftBukkit, and Folia are not supported targets.
Compatibility target: Paper 1.18.2–26.2.
Java: the plugin targets Java 17 bytecode. Use the Java version required by your particular Paper server; newer Paper versions can require newer Java.
Verification status for 1.0.0: compilation and server-independent regression checks have passed against the Paper 1.18.2 and 26.2 API classpaths. Live-server gameplay testing has not yet been completed. This is not a claim that every version in the range, or future versions, has been tested. Test on a staging server before public use.
Quick setup
Important: use a dedicated game floor, not a build you want to preserve. ColorFloor replaces and clears blocks inside registered floor regions, including during startup cleanup. Original floor blocks are not backed up or restored by the plugin.
Only the selecting administrator sees the selection outline. Sneak-click a block with the Blaze Rod to clear the selection. A valid lobby is required before players can join.
Commands
Main command: /cf — alias: /colorfloor
Permissions
There are exactly two permission nodes:
/cf and /cf help are public. The two nodes are independent; administrator permission is not a replacement for a denied user permission.
Configuration & command hooks
The commented config.yml uses readable YAML sections. New installations default to English; set language to KR or JP for Korean or Japanese. All players and the console use the selected language; client-language auto-detection is not included.
Hooks accept asConsole! or asPlayer! before a command, without a leading slash. Unprefixed commands run as console for compatibility. For example, under commands.survive:
enabled: true
commands:
- "asConsole! say %player% survived round %round%!"
%player% and
%player_name% both resolve to the related player's name. Arena, round, color, player-count, and timing placeholders are also available; see the comments in config.yml. These are ColorFloor's built-in placeholders, not a PlaceholderAPI expansion.
On startup and /cf reload, configuration and language files are rebuilt using the bundled layout and comments while preserving existing values and customized text for retained keys. Missing settings receive defaults; retired keys are removed. The first pre-update copy is kept as a .before-update.bak file. Invalid YAML is reported rather than overwritten.
Updating an existing installation does not force English or reset your settings. Back up the entire plugins/ColorFloor folder before replacing the JAR. Keep arenas.yml and restorations.yml: the latter contains pending player restoration records. Do not edit recovery records while the server is running.
Metrics
ColorFloor includes bStats for standard anonymous server usage statistics (plugin ID 34075). Set metrics.enabled to false in config.yml to disable it. The shared bStats configuration is also respected. No custom player-identifying charts are included.

ColorFloor is an arena-based color survival minigame for Paper. Join the lobby, watch the floor shuffle, and move onto the announced color before the other blocks disappear. Survive the rounds and keep the game going!
Features
- A lively, changing floor — colors shuffle every 10 ticks (about half a second at 20 TPS) before each instruction. The layout freezes when the target is announced, and each new round starts with a different arrangement.
- Clear visual cues — bright color-matched instruction titles, white detail subtitles, and a green in-game progress bar.
- Neutral separator lanes — light-gray blocks separate color groups where space permits. These blocks are never a target color.
- Two game limits — play a set number of rounds or use a time limit. If time runs out during a round, the timer stays at zero while that round finishes.
- Lobby-first flow — players wait in the configured lobby and move to the floor's center when the game starts. Waiting pauses below the minimum player count; a separate countdown follows the wait.
- Host controls — the host receives an action-bar reminder and can use /cf begin to skip the lobby wait once enough players have joined. The start countdown still runs.
- Multiple arenas — create dedicated floors and set each arena's lobby in-game.
- Configurable game settings — adjust player limits, timings, playable colors, command restrictions, and spectator handling.
- English, Korean, and Japanese — choose one server-wide language. Gameplay messages, titles, bossbars, action bars, and color names are editable in the language files. Plugin information and help use a fixed, translated layout.
- Command hooks — run console or player commands at round start, color instruction, survival, elimination, and game finish.
- Recovery handling — player game-mode restoration and return-to-lobby records survive disconnects and restarts. Interrupted matches are not resumed.
- No required companion plugins — no economy or permissions plugin is needed to play.

- Stop the server, place ColorFloor-1.0.0.jar in the plugins folder, and start the server.
- As an administrator, hold a Blaze Rod. Left-click and right-click two floor corners at the same Y level in the same world.
- Run /cf create <name>.
- Stand at a safe lobby location and run /cf lobby <name>.
- Run /cf join <name> and invite your players!
Only the selecting administrator sees the selection outline. Sneak-click a block with the Blaze Rod to clear the selection. A valid lobby is required before players can join.
Commands
Main command: /cf — alias: /colorfloor
- /cf — show plugin information.
- /cf begin — as host, skip the lobby wait when the minimum player count is met.
- /cf create <name> — create an arena from your selection. Admin only.
- /cf delete <name> — delete an arena. Admin only.
- /cf end <name> — end an arena's session. Admin only.
- /cf help — show the command list.
- /cf join [name] — join the named arena, or an available arena if no name is supplied.
- /cf lobby <name> — set the arena lobby to your current location. Admin only.
- /cf quit — leave your arena.
- /cf reload — reload settings and all language files. Admin only.
Permissions
There are exactly two permission nodes:
- colorfloor.user — allows /cf join, /cf quit, and /cf begin. Default: true. Everyone can use these commands without a permissions plugin or an explicit grant. Set the node explicitly to false to deny all three commands. Host and minimum-player checks still apply to /cf begin.
- colorfloor.admin — allows arena management, selection, and reload. Default: op.
/cf and /cf help are public. The two nodes are independent; administrator permission is not a replacement for a denied user permission.
