Echo Sense is a lightweight Minecraft Bedrock add-on that gives Echo Shards a new practical use: detecting nearby mobs.
Instead of adding new armor, weapons, menus, or complicated systems, Echo Sense works with your existing vanilla helmets. Infuse a helmet with the power of an Echo Shard and use it to sense mobs hiding nearby — even when a wall blocks your view.
How to Get Echo Sense
Equip any supported vanilla helmet:
- Leather Helmet
- Chainmail Helmet
- Copper Helmet
- Iron Helmet
- Golden Helmet
- Diamond Helmet
- Netherite Helmet
Then hold an Echo Shard in your hand and sneak for 2 seconds.
One Echo Shard will be consumed, and your equipped helmet will permanently gain Echo Sense.
How to Use It
Wear a helmet with Echo Sense and sneak continuously for 2 seconds.
Echo Sense scans for nearby mobs within 16 blocks.
When mobs are detected, glowing cyan Echo Trails extend from the player toward their locations, helping you identify the direction of nearby creatures.
The number of detected mobs is also displayed in the Action Bar.
Cooldown
After activation, Echo Sense has a 15-second cooldown.
If you try to activate it before it is ready, the Action Bar will display:
Echo Sense is not ready yet
When the cooldown finishes, you'll see:
Echo Sense Ready
Designed for Vanilla Survival
Echo Sense is intentionally simple.
It does not provide full X-ray vision or permanently reveal entities through walls. Instead, it acts more like a short-range sensory pulse, giving you information about the direction of nearby mobs while keeping exploration and survival gameplay intact.
Explore caves, investigate suspicious sounds, check dark areas, or find creatures hidden just beyond a wall.
All you need is an Echo Shard, a helmet, and your senses.
Range: 16 blocks
Activation: Sneak for 2 seconds
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Cost: 1 Echo Shard per helmet
