This pack requires the mod Polytone to function.

Alternate Colormap is a resourcepack that leans more heavily towards the more solemn, autumnal themes that some of the biomes in knishles beautiful colormap had.

In addition to those themes, Alternate Colormap aims to make the grass, foliage, and water colors more consistent across similar biomes, in an effort to avoid some of the problems Beautiful Colormap had such as meadows being extremely saturated, or swamp water looking too muddy.

The most notable change from Beautiful Colormap would have to be the water. In general it is now hues of green and blue across nearly all biomes. While I felt that realism demanded more earthy tones, I know that most people do not search for realism in video games.

It is worth mentioning the water colors were designed for a darker tinted water texture and a high biome blend to avoid unsightly transitions between biomes.

This pack is a part of my larger project Dark Cottagecore. There's no point in using it overtop of this.

Use of this pack in modpacks is welcome. Credit would be appreciated.
