Corpses and tombstones with inventory recovery. A resource pack is optional.
When a player dies, TracesDeath stores their dropped items in a corpse. Right-click to recover items and experience. The corpse disappears when both are empty.
Player corpses and stone tombstones work without a resource pack. The optional pack adds warm sandstone tombstone textures and a decorated inventory menu.
Without a resource pack
Features
- Player models, stone tombstones with the owner's head, and chest minecarts.
- Separate armor, offhand and main-hand slots. The main-hand item appears only once.
- Click, Shift-click or collect all. Choose original-slot restoration or inventory filling; displaced or overflowing items drop at your feet.
- Death details, persistent corpse records and restoration after server restarts.
- Configurable experience retention (50% by default). Hover over Collect all and press Q to take only experience.
- Respects keep-inventory deaths and supports item exclusions by display name or lore.
- Editable Chinese and English messages, reloaded with /td reload.
- Optional owner-only access and configurable tombstone GUI buttons.
- Admin configuration reload and a manual resource-pack test command.
With the optional resource pack
Compatibility
- Chest minecart: Bukkit, Spigot or Paper 1.12+.
- Tombstone: Paper 1.19.4+.
- Player model (Mannequin): Paper 1.21.9+.
- The optional resource pack requires a 1.20+ client. Minecraft 1.20+ is recommended; the Java requirement follows your server version.
- Put the plugin JAR in plugins and restart the server.
- Choose auto, mannequin, tombstone or chest_minecart under corpse.type in config.yml.
- For tombstones, run /td reload to generate tombstone.yml and export the bundled pack. Players can install TracesDeath.zip in their client's resourcepacks folder and enable it in game.
/td list — List corpses you can query.
/td locate — Show your corpse locations.
/td reload — Reload configuration; requires tracesdeath.admin.
/td testpack [player] — Manually send the bundled pack for testing; requires tracesdeath.admin.
Set language: en_US in config.yml for English (default: zh_CN). Messages are editable in languages/en_US.yml. The pack is optional and is only sent through the test command.
Set death.keep-percent from 0 to 100; 0 leaves death experience to the server. Collect all takes both items and experience, while taking the last item also awards any remaining experience. Name/lore exclusions leave items to normal drops or the binding plugin; they do not return items automatically.
