BlockElevator
Your blocks. Your destinations. Your way up.

Craft elevators that fit your builds, connect your favorite places,
and decide who can use them—all through in-game menus.
Paper 26.3 • Java 25 • No required dependencies

Travel that fits your world

Turn enabled block types into craftable elevators for bases, towers, shared builds and travel hubs. Use a simple vertical pair to move between floors, or create named connections with a destination menu. White particle rings mark your elevators, while doors and trapdoors offer more ways to blend travel into your build.

What you can do

Craft your first elevator

Use a crafting table with three redstone dust across the top row and one enabled elevator material in the center slot. Leave the other slots empty.
Code (Text):
R R R
. B .
. . .

R = Redstone dust
B = An enabled block type
. = Empty slot
  1. Craft the elevator item and place it.
  2. Enter its name in chat, or use /be name <name>. Name it before placing another elevator or using it.
  3. Place and name a second elevator of the same type directly above or below it.
  4. Stand on the elevator and jump to go up or sneak to go down.

Without explicit links, both elevators must belong to the same owner, use the same material, and be in the same world and X/Z column. The default vertical search range is 256 blocks and can be configured by the server owner. Use the crafted elevator item; an ordinary block of the same material does not register an elevator.

Connect your favorite places

Run /be link, select two elevators you own, and name the connection in chat. Use /be links to browse and manage your connections. A source can have several named destinations; entering it opens a destination menu. Stay beside the source while choosing.

Share access with /be access. Travelers need access to both ends, and both elevators must be active. The owner always retains access.

Doors and trapdoors

Closed trapdoors use jump/sneak travel. For closed doors, walk forward into the white ring on the selected side. Without links, forward entry travels upward to a matching door; sneak while entering forward to travel downward. Open doors and trapdoors are inactive.

Choose the entry/particle side from /be settings. Door portals require forward movement into the selected side; simply turning or walking backward will not trigger them. Arrival space must be clear.

Redstone, built in

Open /be redstone and choose a mode for each elevator:

Set a 1–15 signal threshold for lever switches, timed access, emergency stops or comparator-controlled builds. The circuit must actually power the elevator. Redstone controls availability; players still trigger travel and need access at both ends.

Commands
Code (Text):
/be                    Show command help
/be name <name>        Name or rename an owned elevator
/be link               Connect two owned elevators
/be links              Manage named connections
/be settings           Rename and adjust an elevator
/be access             Manage per-elevator player access
/be giveperm <player>  Share the elevator you are looking at
/be redstone           Configure redstone controls

Admin commands:
/be gui                Enable or disable elevator types
/be reload             Reload configuration and elevator data
/blockelevator is also available. Commands are used in game. Elevator and connection names accept 1–32 letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and underscores; elevator names must be unique among your own elevators.

Server setup
  1. Use Paper 26.3 with Java 25.
  2. Stop the server and place BlockElevator-26.3.1.jar in its plugins folder.
  3. Start the server and open /be gui as an operator to choose which elevator types players can craft.
  4. Adjust particle appearance, item-title colors and vertical range in plugins/BlockElevator/config.yml as needed.

Permission: blockelevator.admin grants the creator menu and reload command; it defaults to operators. Players manage elevators they own through the player commands and access menus.

The block catalog includes usable block items available on the server, including modern 26.3 additions. No companion plugin is required. Back up the BlockElevator data folder before updating an existing installation.
