Architects Time

Architects Time is a configurable calendar, season, clock, and seasonal-growth framework for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.

It provides players with a synchronized in-game calendar and customizable clock HUD while giving modpack creators and developers a reusable, data-driven foundation for seasonal mechanics, progression, crop systems, quests, events, and other time-aware content.

Architects Time is designed as a standalone framework. It does not require Architects Core or another Architects module.

Architects Time does not change weather or add visual seasonal effects.

Calendar and Seasons

Architects Time includes a ready-to-use standard calendar with:

The standard calendar also supports Early and Late season phases.

This is only the included default. Modpack creators are not limited to four seasons or this calendar structure.

Calendars are datapack-defined and can provide custom:

Calendar and Clock HUD

Architects Time includes a configurable HUD that displays synchronized calendar and Minecraft clock information directly in-game.

Depending on the selected layout, the HUD can display:

Both 12-hour and 24-hour clock formats are supported.

HUD layouts can combine normal text, supported layout tokens, icons, and multiple lines.

Players can configure HUD visibility, position, offsets, scale, text shadow, clock format, and custom layouts.

The clock display updates in 10-minute increments.

In-Game Configuration

Architects Time includes a native NeoForge configuration screen.

Open:

Mods > Architects Time > Config

to configure available client and server settings.

The configuration screen includes readable names, descriptions, and tooltips for settings such as:

Layout settings also include guidance for supported tokens and valid resource-ID formats.

Server-owned settings continue to follow normal NeoForge server configuration rules.

Server-Synchronized Time

The calendar is server-authoritative and synchronized between connected players.

Architects Time keeps calendar progression separate from simply reading Minecraft's celestial clock, allowing pack creators to build systems around a stable calendar rather than relying directly on raw world time.

Normal progression, sleeping, and supported time advancement are reflected by the calendar.

Administrative commands and the public API can also inspect or modify calendar time.

FTB Chunks Integration

FTB Chunks is optional.

When FTB Chunks is installed, Architects Time can display synchronized calendar information beneath the FTB Chunks minimap.

The default layout uses three independently centered lines:

<season_icon> Early Spring
Week 1 | Monday
<clock_icon> 2:30 PM

The displayed phase, season, week, weekday, and time use live synchronized Architects Time calendar data.

The minimap component supports:

The standalone Architects Time HUD and FTB Chunks component can be enabled or disabled independently.

FTB Chunks remains responsible for component ordering, visibility, minimap placement, and font scaling.

Compatibility for Minecraft 1.21.1 was developed and tested against the NeoForge 2101.1.22 series.

Seasonal Crop Growth

Architects Time includes a data-driven seasonal growth framework for crops and other supported growing blocks.

Growth rules can classify crops as:

Configured crops can grow faster during their preferred season and more slowly outside it without being destroyed or permanently prevented from growing.

Unconfigured crops retain normal Minecraft behavior.

Seasonal growth rules can target individual blocks or tags and can be customized through datapacks.

Crop Protection and Compatibility

Architects Time does not implement its own greenhouse system.

Instead, it exposes a protection API that allows other mods and pack-specific systems to tell Architects Time when a crop should be protected from seasonal penalties.

This allows greenhouse systems, machines, magical growing areas, and other mechanics to integrate without Architects Time needing to provide those systems itself.

Jade Integration

Jade is optional.

When Jade is installed, supported crops can display:

Growth estimates can use Minecraft calendar time or an approximate real-time reference.

Because normal Minecraft crop growth uses random ticks, maturity information is shown as an estimate rather than an exact countdown.

KubeJS Integration

KubeJS is optional.

Architects Time exposes calendar and time functionality to KubeJS for modpack scripting.

This can be used for:

KubeJS is not required for normal Architects Time functionality.

For Modpack Creators

Architects Time is built as reusable infrastructure rather than a calendar tied to one specific modpack.

Calendar definitions load from:

data/<namespace>/architectstime/calendars/<name>.json

Seasonal growth rules load from:

data/<namespace>/architectstime/seasonal_growth/<name>.json

The included standard calendar provides a complete working example.

Calendar periods can use custom resource-pack icons or existing Minecraft and modded item icons for HUD presentation.

Developer API

Architects Time exposes a supported Java integration API under:

com.silentvector.architectstime.api

The API includes:

Implementation packages outside the public API are considered internal and may change between releases.

Commands

Read-only Architects Time commands are available to players, while commands that modify calendar time require operator permissions.

Examples include:

For the season command, the optional day is a 1-based day within the selected season.

For example:

/architectstime set season winter

and

/architectstime set season winter 1

both select the first day of Winter.

Additional debug commands are available for pack developers and server administrators.

Requirements and Compatibility

Architects Time must be installed on both the server and connecting clients.

FTB Chunks, Jade, and KubeJS are optional integrations and are not required for core Architects Time functionality.

Architects Time does not require Architects Core or another Architects module.

Architects

Architects Time is part of the Architects family of projects, a collection of reusable tools, frameworks, and integrations intended to help modders and modpack creators connect and extend Minecraft systems without forcing everything into a single monolithic mod.

License

Architects Time is released under GPL-3.0-only.
