EssentialsX MySQL is an addon for EssentialsX that provides MySQL/MariaDB database support, allowing server data to be stored and managed in a reliable external database instead of relying solely on local storage.
Designed for servers that need better data management, scalability, or integration with external systems, this addon makes it easy to connect EssentialsX with a MySQL-compatible database.
✨ Features
- 🗄️ MySQL & MariaDB support — Store EssentialsX-related data in an external SQL database.
- ⚡ Efficient database operations — Designed with performance in mind to minimize impact on your server.
- 🔌 Easy integration — Works alongside EssentialsX without requiring major changes to your server setup.
- ⚙️ Simple configuration — Configure your database connection through a straightforward configuration file.
- 🔐 Secure connections — Supports standard database authentication and connection settings.
- 🌐 External data access — Makes your server data accessible to other applications and services.
- 📈 Scalable — Particularly useful for larger servers, networks, and setups where centralized data storage is preferred.
📦 Requirements
- EssentialsX
- Paper/Spigot or another compatible Bukkit-based server
- MySQL or MariaDB server
Why I Made This
EssentialsMySQL was originally created for my own server because I needed a reliable way to expose EssentialsX player data on a website player statistics page.
While building it, I realized that having EssentialsX data available in a centralized MySQL/MariaDB database could also be useful for other servers, especially networks running multiple Paper instances.
So I decided to make the plugin public in case other server owners have similar needs — whether that's building a website, creating custom statistics dashboards, sharing player data across servers, or simply keeping EssentialsX data in a centralized database.
This project started as a solution to a personal need, but hopefully it can be useful to others too. ❤️
⚙️ Configuration
After installing the plugin, configure your database credentials in the generated configuration file:
database:
host: localhost
port: 3306
database: your_database
username: your_username
password: your_password
Note: The exact configuration options may vary depending on the version of the addon.
🎯 Why use EssentialsX MySQL?
Whether you're running a single server or a larger network, storing data in MySQL can make it easier to manage, back up, query, and integrate your server data with external tools.
EssentialsX MySQL aims to provide a lightweight and convenient bridge between EssentialsX and MySQL-compatible databases.
