SimplePoll

SimplePoll is a small polling plugin made for servers that want an easy way to let players vote on things.

Need to decide the next event? Let players pick the next map? Want to settle a server argument? Just make a poll and let everyone vote.

Features

How It Works

Players can use /poll to open the main menu.

Poll GUI

From there, they can see any active polls and look through completed polls from previous votes.

To vote, just open a poll and click the option you want.

If you prefer using chat, you can also type the number of the option instead. The GUI tells you what number to type, so there's no need to remember anything.

Once the poll ends, SimplePoll figures out which option got the most votes and announces the result.

Creating a Poll

Creating a poll is meant to be pretty simple.

If you have the simplepoll.create permission, you can either click the Create Poll button in the GUI or run:

/poll create

Poll

You'll then be asked a few questions in chat:

  1. Give the poll a name
  2. Enter the question
  3. Add your options
  4. Set how long the poll should last
  5. Look over everything
  6. Confirm it

If you mess something up or just change your mind, type cancel at any point to stop.

Poll Announcements

When someone creates a poll, SimplePoll can let the entire server know about it automatically.

The message looks something like:

Poll » PlayerName has made a poll: Server Event! [Click here to answer it!]

The button is actually clickable. Players can click it and SimplePoll will run /poll for them.

You don't have to make your own tellraw command or mess around with JSON.

Don't want announcements? That's fine too. You can turn them off with:

poll-announcement.enabled: false

Annoncment

Voting

Voting is pretty straightforward.

Open a poll, choose an option, and your vote is saved.

If voting.allow-vote-changes is enabled, players can vote again if they change their mind. Their old vote gets replaced, so voting twice doesn't give them two votes.

If it's disabled, their first vote stays.

Ending Polls

Polls can end automatically when their timer runs out.

Admins can also end them early with:

/poll end <name>

Once a poll ends, the option with the most votes wins.

If two or more options are tied, you can decide what SimplePoll should do with the tie.

The available modes are:
