Furnaces get a tiered upgrade path with Better Smelters, an add-on that adds smelting blocks made from many ores and materials.
Furnace variants include Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Amethyst, Netherite, Nether Star, Blazing, Netherrack and Oak Wood. Each higher tier smelts faster and uses less fuel, and every furnace looks different to match its material. Players do not need to craft a new furnace from scratch: interacting with an existing one while holding an upgrade item evolves it, such as Copper to Iron or Amethyst to Netherite. Experimental Features must be turned on because the add-on uses scripting APIs.
