HoldingTorchLight
HoldingTorchLight is a simple, lightweight QoL mod for Minecraft (Forge / NeoForge).
When you hold a torch in your main hand OR your off-hand, the mod applies a permanent Night Vision effect to your player. The moment you put the torch away into your inventory, the effect is instantly removed.
Why use this mod?
- No performance impact – It uses native game effects instead of placing thousands of light blocks in the world.
- Works in both hands – You don't have to sacrifice your off-hand.
- Instant removal – The light disappears the second you stop holding the torch, leaving no visual glitches or leftover blocks in the world.
- Server-friendly – Works perfectly in singleplayer and multiplayer.
Note: This mod is designed for those who do not have OptiFine (due to a low-end PC, version incompatibility, its absence from the modpack, or limited memory).
How to use
Simply hold a torch in either hand. That's it.
