RailTransit

A rail transit addon for Slimefun4

A Slimefun4 addon for Paper 26.2+ servers. Form organizations, plan routes, auto-generate pathfinding with one click, and let trains run autonomously in loops.

What This Project Does

RailTransit adds a complete rail transit gameplay loop from construction to operation:

· Two New Slimefun Items · Train (RT_TRAIN, minecart model) — Crafted with a powered minecart at the Enhanced Workbench · Command Console (RT_CONTROLLER, podium model) — Right-click to open the visual rail transit control panel · Organization System — Create organizations with avatars and descriptions, invite members, and build railways collaboratively · Route System — Multiple routes per organization, each bound to a set of stations. Supports one-way (return-to-depot) and loop modes · Smart Pathfinding — Uses DFS algorithm to auto-find a path along rails from the siding, passing all target stations, and generates persistent waypoints · Autonomous Train Operation — Trains auto-circulate along compiled paths, announce stations on arrival, wait, return to depot, and depart again · Breakpoint Resume — If unloaded blocks are encountered during compilation, use /railtransfer continue to resume without returning to start · Auto-Recovery on Restart — Automatically scans and restores running trains after server reboot

Why Download

· Out-of-the-Box — Uses vanilla rails (normal, powered, activator, detector) with no extra track mods needed · Full GUI Operation — Organizations, routes, stations, and compilation all accessible via the Command Console. Full commands with tab completion also available · Low-Maintenance — Auto station announcements, configurable stop/departure intervals (in seconds), auto-crash recovery, auto-restart recovery — set it and forget it · Multiplayer-Friendly — Organization-based route management, perfect for collaborative large-scale urban rail networks · Lightweight & Stable — Only depends on Slimefun; JSON data storage for easy backup/migration; pathfinding runs off main thread; tick-driven lightweight execution

Essential Info Before Downloading

· Environment: Paper 26.2 (or compatible 26.x.x) with Slimefun4 installed as a hard dependency · Permission: Requires railtransit.use permission node · Track Conventions: Siding rails (detector rails) = start/depot; Station rails (activator rails) = platform; Powered rails = high-speed sections; Normal rails = normal sections · Stations Are Global — Stored in a global list and can be reused across routes. Must recompile after adding/removing stations · Compilation & Chunk Loading — Unloaded blocks during long-distance compilation are normal. Use continue to resume. The minecart stops at chunk borders — this is intended behavior · Data Files: plugins/RailTransit/group.json (organizations) and station.json (stations, routes, paths). Back up before editing · Version History · v1.0.6: Iron block elevator · v1.0.3: Refined version · v1.0.2: Breakpoint resume (/railtransfer continue) · v1.0.0-alpha: First usable version

Command List

· /railtransfer select [org id] [line id] — Select a line; place a train to run on it · /railtransfer compile [org id] [line id] — Compile a line; then right-click a siding rail as start point · /railtransfer continue [org id] [line id] — Resume compilation (parameters optional, uses last line) · /railtransfer out [org id] [line id] — Set departure interval (seconds) after returning to depot · /railtransfer wait [org id] [line id] — Set dwell time (seconds) per station · /railtransfer help — View help · /railtransit — Main command, aliases: rt, railway

Permission Node

· railtransit.use — Permission to use rail transit commands

Quick Start

  1. Install Slimefun and this plugin, restart server
  2. Craft Train and Command Console; place Console and create an organization
  3. Lay tracks: start siding + normal/powered rails along route + activator rails at each station
  4. Add stations via Console, create a route, bind stations
  5. Compile the route (right-click siding rail empty-handed); use continue for unloaded chunks
  6. Use select to choose the route, place the Train on the siding, and start operations
