Saltcraft Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) – Survive Harsh Dry Biomes with Real Thirst

Saltcraft Mod introduces mineral deposits, dry biomes, and unique survival mechanics to the Overworld. Players can gather regular salt along riverbeds or climb high mountain peaks to find rare pink salt deposits. This mod also adds wildlife, ancient underground ruins, and a thirst status effect that changes how food and drinks work during long travels.

Features:

• Adds Salt Ore in oceans, rivers, swamps, and flatlands between Y levels 20 and 60.
• Generates rare Pink Salt Ore high in mountain biomes between Y levels 130 and 256.
• Introduces a Thirst status effect that drains a thirst bar and deals dehydration damage when empty.
• Applies damage to slimes and undead mobs whenever they catch the thirst effect.
• Lets players season foods with salt and pink salt to restore extra hunger points and cure poisonous potatoes.
• Cleans moss off cobblestone and melts ice, snow, and packed ice into water when salt touches them.
• Adds heavy oil pockets that players can scoop up with buckets and burn as furnace fuel.
• Provides oil cans to speed up minecarts by 1.5x and grant strength buffs to Iron Golems.
• Generates the Salt Flat biome, featuring flat terrain, skeleton spawns, and shallow salt lakes.
• Spawns flamingos around salt lakes and hides rock salt fossils deep beneath the terrain.
• Adds bucketable jellyfish that deal poison on touch and drop salt upon defeat.
• Features the Salt Mage boss, which players can summon inside underground Salt Ruins.
• Includes complete sets of building blocks such as rock salt bricks, slabs, stairs, walls, and pillars.

Mob Variants:

• Flamingo: peaceful birds that inhabit salt lakes across the Salt Flats.
• Jellyfish: aquatic mobs obtained through Wandering Traders that sting attackers with poison.
• Mirage: hostile entities that roam open sandy spaces.
• Crystid: crystal-themed creatures found in salt environments.
• Salt Mage: a powerful boss mob awakened by lighting plinths in underground Salt Ruins.

How to Use:

1. Locate salt ore along riverbanks, swamps, or inside the flat white plains of the Salt Flat biome.
2. Combine mined salt with water bottles to brew salt water potions or craft salted food items.
3. Place salt blocks directly adjacent to snow, ice, or mossy bricks to melt or clean them.
4. Collect oil from deep underground pockets using iron buckets to power furnaces or fill an oil can.
5. Use an oil can on minecarts to increase track speeds or on Iron Golems to grant them bonus combat strength.
6. Explore underground at Y level -27 in Salt Flats, light all summoning plinths, and shoot the central block to fight the Salt Mage.
