CrateForge is a free crate plugin for Paper and Spigot, 1.19.4 to 26.x. Each crate has one of thirteen reveal animations, shows its key floating above it with a ring of particles in its own colour, and has a pity counter that guarantees a rare prize after a run of bad luck.
How it works in play
- Placed crates: each one shows its key turning above it, a particle aura and a hologram with its name. Staff can locate any placed crate with /cf find.
- Odds: /cf preview <crate> lists every prize with its rarity, weight and exact chance.
- Opening: right-click with the matching key and the crate's animation plays. The options include a CS:GO reel, a roulette, a slot machine and fireworks in the world.
- Pity counter: after 50 opens without a rare prize, the next one is guaranteed at that tier or above. Both numbers are set per crate.
Prizes and keys
- Rewards: items (with enchantments), console commands, Vault money, XP levels and tokens, several in one prize.
- Keys: a key is recognised by data stored in the item, so renaming a tripwire hook in an anvil doesn't make one.
- Getting keys: votes, commands and mob drops, set per key in its own file. /cf daily gives one free key every 24 hours.
- Broadcasts: only prizes at or above the rarity you choose are announced to the server.
- Custom items: prizes can be ItemsAdder or Oraxen items; holograms can run on the built-in displays, DecentHolograms or CMI.
How to use it
- Install: drop the jar into /plugins and restart once. A sample Legendary crate and key are written to crates/ and keys/; copy them to make your own.
- Place a crate: /cf set <crate>, then click the block you want. /cf remove takes it away again.
- Hand out keys: /cf givekey <player> <key> [amount], votes or mob drops.
- Try the animations: /cf demo <animation> plays any reveal on you without spending a key.
Requirements
- Paper or Spigot from 1.19.4 to 26.x, forks like Purpur included, on the Java version your server already uses. Storage is SQLite, created on first start.
- Optional: Vault (money prizes), PlaceholderAPI (%crateforge_opens%, token balances), DecentHolograms or CMI, ItemsAdder or Oraxen, ParticleForge (extra reveal and auras).
FAQ
Will a spawn full of animated crates lag?
Only players within 24 blocks receive the effect, and you cap how many crates animate at once. The refresh rate is one setting.
Can players spam-open crates?
There's a minimum gap between two opens by the same player, and clicks during an animation are ignored.
Can other plugins react to openings?
Yes: CrateOpenStartEvent, CratePrizeWonEvent and KeyObtainedEvent.
Can I translate it?
English and Spanish are included, in MiniMessage.
