MaxiShop

Type [shop] on a sign → your shop is open. That's it.

No commands to learn and no setup wizard. Put a sign on a chest, write [shop], pick a price, and you're selling. Everything else happens on its own: your stock is protected, buyers can't steal from you, and you get paid automatically.

⚡ How it works in 10 seconds

1. Place a chest and put a sign on it.
2. Write [shop] on the first line.
3. Click the sign, choose your item, and type your price in chat.

✔ Shop active. A floating, glowing item appears above your chest and players can start buying.

Buying is just as simple: click a shop sign, then click [Buy 1], [Buy 16], [Buy 64] or [Buy max], or type how many you want in chat.

A single chest opens up the GUI of a double chest. Meaning a chest shop takes half the space of a double chest, yet has the same capacity!

• Restock: right-click your chest to open the stock window. Only your shop's item fits; anything else bounces back.
• Change item: empty the stock window and put a new item in, or click [Use item in hand].
• Pause selling: [Close shop] shows CLOSED on the sign. /mshop closeall pauses all your shops at once.
• Sale notifications: get a message for every sale, or turn them off per shop.
• Away from the server? When you log back in you get a summary: "While you were away: 14 sales, +3,250 G".
• Delete: a confirmation window opens first, and all remaining stock comes back to you.

🛒 For buyers

Click any shop sign to see the owner, item (with a hover preview), stock and price, plus buy buttons.

You can never buy more than the shop has in stock, more than you can afford, or more than fits in your inventory. No debt, no lost items. If something ever doesn't fit, /mshop claim keeps it safe for you.

🔒 Why MaxiShop can't be robbed

Many shop plugins keep the items inside the real chest and rely on the plugin to stop people opening it. If that plugin fails to load (a broken dependency, a database error, a bad update), every chest turns back into a normal chest while the signs still look like shops. Anyone can walk in and empty them.

MaxiShop is built to fail closed. If something breaks, shops lock instead of opening.

Shop marker saved in the chest and sign block data	Shops stay protected even if their data entry goes missing, and staff are alerted
Floating items aren't saved to the world	If the plugin is down, the items vanish, so you can see something is wrong
Data is never overwritten after a failed load	A damaged data file is restored from the newest backup. If that fails too, MaxiShop goes into lockdown: everything stays locked and nothing is overwritten
No database or packet libraries	Fewer things that can break. Without Vault, shops stay locked and buying pauses

A built-in integrity check also runs every minute. It repairs missing signs, locks or markers on loaded shops automatically.

🎨 Customization

Everything is in config.yml and uses MiniMessage colors (<green>, <#ff8800>, <bold> …). Apply changes with /mshopadmin reload.

Currency. Set it in the config, or in game with one command:

Sign text per state (active, out of stock, closed, setting up) with the placeholders <owner> <stock> <item> <price> <name>.

🗂️ Data, logs and backups

• Automatic backups every hour and at every startup (the newest 30 are kept).
• Transaction log. Every sale goes to logs/transactions-YYYY-MM.csv, which opens in Excel.
• Autosave every 60 seconds and right after every sale.

🧹 Uninstalling cleanly

Because stock is virtual and chests are locked, don't just delete the jar. Run /mshopadmin uninstall instead:

• Every shop is removed and every chest is unlocked.
• All stock goes back to its owner. Online players get it in their inventory; offline players get it automatically when they log in.
• A full report is saved to uninstall-report.txt.
• /mshopadmin uninstall status tells you when it's safe to remove the plugin.

🔄 Switching from another shop plugin

1. Have owners empty their old shop chests.
2. Remove the old plugin.
3. Install MaxiShop.
4. Players break their old signs and place new [shop] signs. A chest holding a single item type is turned into stock automatically when the shop is created.
5. Check /mshopadmin status. It should say "No problems detected".

• Shops are sell-only: players sell items to other players.
• Shops work on single chests, trapped chests and barrels. Double chests aren't supported.
