zAntiFreeCam

Server-side anti-freecam protection for Paper and Folia.

zAntiFreeCam protects underground areas from being exposed through Freecam-style camera movement and underground scouting. It filters outgoing chunk data sent to surface players instead of modifying the actual world.

Protected underground data can be replaced with a configurable solid mask, preventing caves, ores, air pockets, and other underground information from being exposed to surface players.

No client-side mod is required.

Features

How It Works

By default, blocks below Y=16 are protected for players on the surface.

The default protection settings are:

Protected positions are represented by the configured mask block instead of the real underground data.

This covers underground data such as:

The actual world is never modified. The protection only affects data sent to the player's client.

Players who legitimately move underground can receive the real terrain based on their server-side position.

Example Configuration

The following settings represent the recommended default configuration:

World Protection

Protection is designed for the Overworld.

Additional world exclusions can also be configured.

Entity Protection

Underground entities can optionally be hidden from surface players.

Performance

zAntiFreeCam includes configurable limits for chunk updates and state checks.

Permission

zantifreecam.bypass

Allows a player to bypass underground visibility protection.
