Killed Sheep Don't Drop Wool

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Sheep no longer shed their wool when they die, only when they are sheared.

This is to make the early game slightly more difficult, now you cannot get quickly a bed, you need to find one or get iron to make a shear. It's also to give less incentive to the players to kill sheeps, as they are innocent creatures that do not deserve such violence.

Compatibility : I tried this datapack with Ecologics and you can use the crab claw too to shear the sheeps. Flame and Fire Aspect enchants still work as expected. I also tried mods like Soul Fire and Copper Fire and those modded fire worked as well.

There is 3 versions : A, B and C. Those are 3 different implementations, choose the one you want. C is not more "up to date", C is just different than A. If you prefer A, get version A, not the latest.

A: Most lightweight version. Killed sheep don't drop wool, no other change. I recommend this version as it being the most lightweight, it's also the one the less probably prone to incompatibilities with other mods.

B: Second most lightweight version. Killed sheep don't drop wool, and sheared sheep drop only one wool max. So kinda a nerf on the sheep.

C: Least lightweight version (still very lightweigth compared to other things, it's a small datapack, I mean least lightweight compared to the other two versions). This version override the fortune enchantment, so if another mod does that, there will be an issue. Killed sheep don't drop wool, and sheared sheep drop only one wool max unless your shears has the Fortune enchantement. It scale with the level with this very simple formula : between 1 and (enchant level+1). So at Fortune I : between 1 and 2 wool. At Fortune II : between 1 and 3 wool. At Fortune III: between 1 and 4 wool. Again that is per shear, you get no wool when the sheep is killed.

I litteraly just noticed after posting this that someone named GFBruno already made a datapack like that named "Sheep don't drop wool". We even have the same idea for the icon (a barrier block on a sheep block). If I knew that I wouldn't have gone trought the effort of making this. I should probably change the icon too to differentiate us more. So if this datapack doesn't satisfy you, check their version.
