Assorted Throwing Spears

Throwing spears come in every tool material. Hold right click to wind up and let go to throw it like a trident. It sticks where it lands so you can walk over and pick it back up. They also get four enchantments of their own that set things on fire, blow things up, bounce off blocks and call down lightning.

How it works

• There's a throwing spear in wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond and netherite.
• Copper, emerald and amethyst spears can be made with vanilla's items.
• There are also spears in tin, steel, ruby and the other extra materials. Each one shows up once another mod adds that material.
• Craft one with two sticks and the material in a row. A diamond spear can also be upgraded to netherite at a smithing table.
• You can still hit things with it up close like a trident.
• Loyalty, Impaling, Unbreaking, Mending and Curse of Vanishing work on them like they do on a trident. Riptide and Channeling don't.

Enchantments

These four are only for throwing spears. You can get them from the enchanting table, villager trades and loot.

• Flammable sets fire to the ground around where the spear lands.
• Unstable makes an explosion where it hits. Level II makes a bigger one.
• Conductive has a chance to bring down lightning where it hits, as long as it can see the sky. Each level makes it more likely, up to III.
• Bounciness bounces the spear off blocks once for each level, up to V.

Unstable can't go on a spear with any of the other three.

Config

These are in the assortedthrowingspears-common config file.

• better_spears.conductivityLightningChances sets the lightning chance for each level of Conductive. 0.6, 0.3 and 0.1 by default. Smaller numbers are a better chance.

The spears use the tool materials every Assorted mod shares, set in the assortedlib-tool-tiers config file.

Updating from Assorted Tools 11.x

Worlds made with Assorted Tools 11.x keep everything when you switch to this mod. Don't install it beside Assorted Tools 11.x.

• NeoForge, or Fabric Loader with Fabric API

Throwing Spears also comes in Assorted Tools with the other Tools mods, if you'd rather have them all in one download.
