This is a PvP blood system for survival servers. Every player starts with 100 Blood. Kill another player and you take 25 from them. Die to a zombie or a fall and you lose a little, but it drops as an item someone can pick up. The more Blood you have, the stronger you get, and the easier you are to find.
Install
Open the .mcaddon file and turn on both packs for your world or server. The behavior pack needs the resource pack, so one without the other won't work. You don't need any experimental toggles.
Blood and tiers
Your Blood and tier show on the action bar at all times. Your tier follows your current Blood, so if you lose Blood you can drop a tier.
- 125 Blood: Blooded
- 150: Hunter
- 175: Blood Mage
- 200: Bloodthirst
- 225: Carnage (the cap)
You get a title card and a toast sound the first time you reach each tier. Every kill also heals you, and the heal gets bigger as you climb. At Blood Mage and above you get Regeneration, and from Bloodthirst you get Strength too. From Hunter up, you get a Speed boost whenever another player is within range, and that range grows with your tier.
Blood Scent
Once you're Blooded, right-click a compass. Red wisps drift out from you toward nearby players, and only you can see them. They show direction only, with no coordinates. Far-off targets make the wisps wobble, and close ones make them stronger and steadier. Players with a lot of Blood, and players who are badly hurt, can be smelled from farther away. Higher tiers get more range, a longer duration, a shorter cooldown and more targets at once.
Blood trail
Once you drop to half health, you leave blood splatters behind you as you walk. They're sparse and scattered, and they fade after about 90 seconds. Anyone can follow them, so a wounded player running away is easy to track.
Blood Essence and the Blood Potion
If you die to something that isn't a player, you lose 10 Blood and it drops as a Blood Essence. Right-click one to get +10 Blood. It won't be used up if you're already at the cap.
Craft a Blood Potion from 4 Blood Essence and 1 Glass Bottle, with no set pattern. Drinking it gives you 5 minutes where you leave no trail and can't be smelled. It also stops other players' Speed boosts from triggering off you.
Carnage tier
At 225 Blood, swords, axes, spears, tridents and maces get a "Bleed V" tag while you hold them. Every 5th hit on a player drains 2 hearts from them and gives them to you. Carnage also gets the strongest version of everything above.
Anti-farming
Killing the same player over and over doesn't pay. Within 30 minutes, the second kill gives half the Blood and the third gives none. After that it resets.
Config and admin commands
Almost everything is adjustable in scripts/config.js, including Blood values, tier thresholds, ranges, cooldowns, trail length and the potion timer. For testing:
/execute as <player> run scriptevent carnage:set 225carnage:add 25carnage:resetcarnage:status/scriptevent carnage:clear_trails
