Obe's Villager Capsule
Moving villagers, without the pain. No more leads that snap, boats you push across the map or rails through your base. Put the villager in a capsule, carry it in your inventory, and let it out where you want it.
The villager comes out exactly as it went in: same trades, same prices, same level, same name, same health. That master librarian with Mending stays a master librarian with Mending.
How it works
- Capture: hold an empty capsule and use it on a villager. The villager goes into the capsule instead of opening its trades.
- Release: use the filled capsule on a block. The villager appears there, in the middle of the block, and you get the empty capsule back to use again.
The tooltip of a filled capsule shows who's inside: the villager's name, its profession, and whether it's a zombie villager or a baby. So "Bob, Villager · Librarian" is easy to find among your capsules.
Crafting
An emerald surrounded by glass and iron, in a crafting table:

| Iron Ingot |
Empty capsules stack to 16. You unlock the recipe in the recipe book by picking up an emerald. With cheats on you can also use /give @s villager_capsule:capsule.
Good to know
- Zombie villagers fit too, so you can carry one to your curing station.
- Works across dimensions. Capture a villager in the Overworld and release it in the Nether or the End, or the other way round.
- A villager on a lead or in a boat or minecart is taken off it first. Only the villager goes into the capsule, even in a crowded trading hall.
- A villager needs two blocks of room to come out. If a block is in the way, nothing happens and it stays in the capsule.
- The villager lives in the capsule item. You can store filled capsules in chests and pass them to other players. If the item is destroyed (lava, cactus, despawning), the villager is gone too.
- Works in single player, on Realms and on dedicated servers. You don't need to turn on any experiments.
