Shield Upgrades Mod (26.3, 1.21.11) – Survive Deadly Strikes and Punish

Shield Upgrades Mod introduces nine craftable shields with custom powers and double the durability of vanilla shields. Each gear piece grants special stat boosts or passive abilities to help in battle and exploration. Obtaining any shield in the game automatically unlocks all the new crafting recipes in your recipe book. This mod gives you strategic offhand options for both survival combat and player versus player fights.

Features:

• Double Durability: All upgraded shields last twice as long as standard vanilla shields.
• Recipe Unlock: Picking up any shield immediately unlocks every new shield recipe in your recipe book.
• Adds nine distinct shields crafted with rare materials from different dimensions and biomes.
• Grants stat bonuses like extra health, movement speed, attack damage, and reach when equipped.
• Applies combat effects such as burning or wither penalties to attackers who hit your guard.

Shield Variants:

• Shield of Undying: Grants two extra max health and works like a Totem of Undying to save you from fatal blows.
• Fire Shield: Sets attackers on fire, boosts attack speed by 0.2, and cuts burning duration by two seconds.
• Ender Shield: Protects you from void damage in the End dimension and gives a 0.02 boost to movement speed.
• Ocean Shield: Gives two max health, improves underwater movement, adds ten oxygen, and speeds up underwater mining.
• Dune Shield: Increases block reach by 0.5 and entity interaction range by 0.25.
• Warden Shield: Boosts attack damage by two and increases sneaking speed by 0.5.
• Netherite Shield: Provides two armor points, one armor toughness, and one knockback resistance.
• Wither Shield: Inflicts the wither effect on attacking mobs while boosting attack damage by one and attack speed by 0.1.
• Sword Shield: Functions as a heavy weapon that deals ten attack damage when held in your main hand.

Commands:

• /loot give @s loot shield_upgrades:<shield>: Gives the chosen upgraded shield directly to your inventory.

How to Use:

1. Craft or pick up any standard vanilla shield to unlock all upgrade recipes.
2. Gather rare materials across biomes and dimensions to assemble your chosen shield on a crafting table.
3. Equip the shield in your offhand slot to gain its passive stat bonuses.
4. Hold right-click to block enemy strikes and trigger defensive effects against attackers.
