🌎 Natural Terrain Restore
Natural Terrain Restore is a Minecraft Bedrock addon designed to keep your world looking natural after destruction.
Break naturally generated terrain, blow up an area, place temporary blocks, or cause large-scale destruction—the addon remembers the original terrain and automatically restores it after a delay.
✨ Main Features
🧱 Natural Terrain Restoration
Natural blocks that are destroyed by hand-breaking or explosions are recorded and restored automatically.
The addon remembers the original block type and block states, allowing terrain to return to its previous form instead of simply replacing everything with a generic block.
Restoration time: 1 minute.
This works with terrain such as:
-
Stone
-
Dirt
-
Grass
-
Sand
-
Gravel
-
Deepslate
-
Ores
-
Natural underground blocks
-
Naturally generated structures and terrain blocks
-
Water and lava
-
Other naturally generated blocks
💥 Explosion Restoration
Explosions are supported, including large areas of destruction and chain explosions.
When terrain is destroyed by an explosion, the addon records the affected natural blocks and schedules them for restoration.
This allows players to use TNT and other explosive mechanics without permanently destroying the natural landscape.
✋ Hand-Break Restoration
Naturally generated blocks broken by the player's empty hand are also tracked.
After the restoration delay, the original block and its state are restored.
The addon also handles situations where hand-breaking and explosions affect the same area, preserving the original terrain instead of allowing one event to overwrite the other.
🏖️ Sand & Gravel Restoration
Gravity-affected blocks such as sand and gravel are restored in the correct order.
This prevents the restored blocks from being placed incorrectly or becoming stuck because of their gravity behavior.
🌊 Water & Lava
Water and lava restoration includes retry handling so the original fluid can be restored even when the surrounding terrain temporarily prevents the block from being placed correctly.
🧱 Temporary Player-Placed Blocks
If a player places a block into a location that previously contained natural terrain that was destroyed, the placed block is treated as temporary.
The temporary block is removed after 40 seconds, and the original natural terrain is restored.
This also handles situations such as:
Natural block → destroyed → Obsidian placed → End Crystal placed
The temporary setup can be cleaned up while the original terrain is restored.
☁️ Temporary Blocks in Empty Areas
If a player places a block somewhere that did not originally contain natural terrain, the addon remembers that the original location was air.
After the temporary block timer expires, the placed block is removed and the location returns to air.
This makes the system useful not only for destroyed terrain, but also for temporary player-built blocks.
👻 Entity Cleanup
The addon also cleans up unwanted non-living entities associated with temporary destruction setups.
Cleanup runs every 1 minute.
Examples include:
-
Dropped items
-
Armor stands
-
Projectiles
-
Other non-living/utility entities
🛡️ Protected Entities
The addon does not indiscriminately remove entities.
Players and normal living mobs are protected so the cleanup system does not accidentally remove regular creatures or players.
⏱️ Timers
| Feature | Timer |
|---|---|
| 🌎 Natural terrain restoration | 1 minute |
| 🧱 Temporary player-placed blocks | 40 seconds |
| 👻 Non-living entity cleanup | 1 minute |
🔄 How It Works
Natural Terrain Restore keeps track of destroyed terrain and stores the original block information.
When the restoration timer expires, the addon attempts to recreate the original block using its saved block type and states.
The system also verifies the restored block and can retry restoration when the world temporarily prevents the original block from being placed correctly.
This helps make restoration more reliable in complicated terrain and explosion scenarios.
🎯 Designed For
Natural Terrain Restore is especially useful for:
-
Survival worlds
-
SMP servers
-
PvP worlds
-
TNT testing
-
Building worlds
-
Adventure maps
-
Destructive minigames
-
Temporary terrain modifications
-
Worlds where players frequently use explosions
It allows players to experiment with destruction without permanently damaging the natural world.
⚙️ Performance
The addon is designed to process restoration and cleanup periodically rather than constantly checking every block in the world.
Restoration is focused on blocks that have actually been affected by the addon, while entity cleanup runs on a fixed interval.
This helps avoid unnecessary continuous world scanning.
