ScarAI — The AI Staff Member Who Never Sleeps

ScarAI is an AI-powered staff leader that lives in your server chat. Players just say the trigger word anywhere in a sentence — "scar hey", "hey scar", "how are you scar" — and it answers with actual personality: casual, witty, and genuinely helpful. It remembers every player it talks to, runs utility commands on request, keeps your chat friendly, and follows operator orders instantly. Drop the jar in your plugins folder, paste an API key, and say hi to Scar.

What ScarAI does

Talks like a person. It connects to any OpenAI-compatible API (NVIDIA NIM by default, OpenRouter and friends work too). Every player gets their own persistent memory (~2000 tokens) that survives restarts and relogs, so returning players pick up right where they left off. Real-world time awareness means "what time is it?" actually gets a correct answer. While it thinks, subtle enchant particles float around your head.

Obeys operators instantly. OPs don't get questions, lectures, or confirmations — just results. "scar kill Steve", "scar make it day", "scar give Steve 64 diamonds": ScarAI outputs the command and the console runs it. A hard-blocked command list (op, stop, ban, whitelist and friends) can never be touched, and banning is permanently off the table even for OPs.

Gives everyone tools. Regular players get utility commands through chat: player-to-player teleports (with /tpaccept consent — coordinate teleports are permanently disabled), time set, TPS and player stats, private waypoints, offline messages, and /spawn.

Keeps your chat healthy. A live toxicity monitor has the model review recent chat every couple of minutes; if someone is being genuinely toxic they get muted and the server hears why — and if everyone's behaving, it stays completely silent. Same-message spam gets an automatic kick, and typing a player's name (with or without @) highlights it in yellow with a private ping sound. An optional passive mode reads all chat for real-time translation and moderation.

The fun stuff. Players can set personal reminders ("scar remind me 10 min later that I need to check the furnace") that ping them with a private sound and survive server restarts. Every day, ScarAI posts a server recap — top chatter, most deaths, busiest hour — written by the AI in its own words. It even roasts players who die to lava or gravity (PvP deaths get a pass).

Yours to shape. /scarai opens a clean GUI where every player picks their own model (up to 14, fully defined in the config), switches between Fast and Detailed replies, and clears their own history. The entire system prompt and server rules are editable in the config.

Config guide

Everything lives in config.yml, and changes apply with /scarai reload:

Compatibility

Built for Paper and Spigot on Minecraft 1.21+ (api-version 1.21, Java 21). ScarAI has no required dependencies and ships with the official Mojang 1.21.4 recipe database for item lookups. For toxicity mutes and passive-mode warnings it simply runs your configured mute/warn commands, so EssentialsX — or any moderation plugin with those commands — plugs right in.
