OLLA's Death Circle

No more death drops flying off randomly, getting stuck in walls or falling into holes. When a player dies, all their items burst out in a clean, perfect circle around the spot where they died.

How it works

1. A player dies and their items drop like normal.
2. Every dropped item is pulled back to the exact death spot, and its velocity is reset to zero.
3. The items are then launched outward at evenly spaced angles, making a perfect circle with a little upward pop.

The items are never teleported into a ring around you. They always start from where you actually died and get pushed outward, so they never end up inside blocks, even if you die deep underground or in a tight 1x2 tunnel.

Operator settings: /olla:circledrop

Operators can open an in-game settings menu with /olla:circledrop and change:

Delay	How long the items wait at the death spot before bursting out (seconds)	0.1

• Changes apply right away, to the next death
• Settings are saved with the world, so they stay after restarts
• Reset all to defaults switch included
• Operators only: regular players can't see or use the command
• Works for Realm operators, server ops and singleplayer hosts

• Lightweight, script-only, no extra blocks, items or entities added
• Does nothing when keepInventory is on, since nothing drops

Notes

• Requires Minecraft 1.21.80 or newer with Beta APIs enabled
• If two players die at the exact same spot on the same tick, their items get scattered together in one circle
