Cool Water - Actually See Underwater! 💧

Okay, real talk - vanilla Minecraft water is super murky. Like, you're trying to build an underwater base or find a shipwreck and you can barely see anything. I got so frustrated with this that I decided to fix it myself.

What's Different? ✨

Crystal Clear Water I made water way more transparent so you can actually see what's going on underwater. It's still obviously water - not invisible or anything - but now you can explore ocean monuments without feeling like you're swimming through soup.

The water still has that nice blue tint and realistic look, just... clearer. Way easier to build underwater, find treasure, or just explore without constantly drinking night vision potions.

Better Water Flow The flowing water texture got a complete redo. More detail, better animation, and it actually looks like water is flowing instead of just... sliding around. Small change but you'll notice it immediately near waterfalls and rivers.

Animated Surface The water surface has subtle animation that makes it look more alive. Not crazy or distracting, just natural-looking ripples and movement. Makes oceans and lakes way more immersive.

Still Looks Like Minecraft This isn't some ultra-realistic texture pack. I kept the vanilla Minecraft aesthetic - just made it clearer and prettier. If you like the default style but want to actually see underwater, this is perfect.

Will This Work For You? 🤔

Requirements:

With OptiFine you get:

Other stuff:

Where This Shines 🌊

Ocean Monuments - Finally see those guardians coming Underwater Bases - Build without going blind Coral Reefs - The colors actually pop now Rivers & Lakes - Look way more natural Shipwrecks - Easy to spot and explore Swimming - Just more enjoyable in general

Quick Install 📦

  1. Download the pack
  2. Minecraft → Options → Resource Packs → Open Pack Folder
  3. Drop the zip in (don't unzip!)
  4. Select it in-game
  5. Jump in some water and enjoy actually seeing stuff

Honest Talk 💭

This won't turn Minecraft into some photorealistic game. The water still looks like Minecraft water - just clearer and nicer. If you're expecting real-life water physics or ray-traced reflections, that's not what this is.

I made this because I was tired of not being able to see underwater. That's it. Simple problem, simple solution. If that sounds useful to you, download it.

Also it's tiny (under 20 KB) so it's not going to bloat your game or cause lag.

Performance? 🚀

Zero impact. These are just texture files. I tested this with shaders on a mid-range PC and it ran perfectly. If you can run vanilla Minecraft, you can run this without any issues.

Pairs Well With... 🎨

Credits & Stuff 📝

Made by me (Craftury) because I kept drowning while trying to build underwater and couldn't see anything. Free to use in modpacks - just credit somewhere.

Found a bug? Water looks weird in some situation I didn't test? Let me know! I actually check comments and I'm planning updates.

Simple pack, makes water way better. That's the whole pitch.
