🍃 Faster Leaves
🌳 Cut the Tree. Don't Wait for the Leaves.
Faster Leaves makes natural tree leaves decay much faster after you chop down the logs.
No more standing around waiting for leaves to slowly disappear after cutting a tree.
Simply break the logs normally and nearby unsupported leaves will begin disappearing automatically.
⭐ Main Features
- 🍃 Faster natural leaf decay
- 🌳 Activates after chopping tree logs
- 🛡️ Does not intentionally remove player-placed leaves
- 🪵 Leaves connected to supporting logs are kept
- 🎁 Uses vanilla leaf drops
- 🌱 Saplings and other normal drops can still be obtained
- ⚡ Leaves decay progressively instead of all at once
- 🚀 Designed to avoid unnecessary performance spikes
- 🎮 Simple Survival-friendly mechanic
- 🚫 Does NOT use
player.json - 🧪 No Experimental Gameplay toggles required
🌳 How Does It Work?
Faster Leaves automatically checks nearby leaves after you break a vanilla log.
If a leaf is:
- Naturally generated
- No longer properly supported by a nearby log
- Connected to the tree area being processed
it will begin to decay automatically.
You don't need to break every leaf manually.
🛡️ Your Builds Are Safer
The addon is designed to distinguish naturally generated leaves from persistent/player-placed leaves.
That means decorative leaves used in:
- Houses
- Gardens
- Custom trees
- Bushes
- Builds
are not supposed to disappear just because you break a nearby log.
The addon also checks whether leaves still have valid log support before removing them.
🎁 Vanilla Drops
Faster Leaves does not simply delete natural leaves.
When a leaf decays, the addon uses the block's vanilla loot behavior whenever available.
This allows normal leaf rewards to continue working naturally, including things such as:
- 🌱 Saplings
- 🪵 Sticks
- 🍎 Other vanilla leaf drops when applicable
So faster cleanup does not mean losing the normal rewards from trees.
⚡ Performance Friendly Processing
Large trees can contain a lot of leaves.
Instead of trying to remove an entire tree canopy in a single instant, Faster Leaves processes leaves progressively.
This helps make large tree decay smoother and reduces unnecessary processing spikes.
The addon also limits how far and how many leaves a single tree-cutting action can process.
✅ What Faster Leaves Does
Before
- Cut down a tree.
- Leave floating leaves behind.
- Wait for Minecraft's natural decay.
- Come back later to collect drops.
With Faster Leaves
- Cut down the tree.
- Unsupported natural leaves quickly begin disappearing.
- Collect the normal drops.
- Keep exploring or building.
🧩 Compatibility
🚫 No player.json
Faster Leaves does not modify player.json.
This helps avoid unnecessary conflicts with Add-ons that modify the player.
🧪 No Experimental Gameplay
The addon uses the stable Minecraft Script API and does not require experimental gameplay toggles.
🌳 Vanilla Trees
The decay system is designed around vanilla Minecraft logs and leaves.
Player-placed persistent leaves are intentionally protected from the automatic decay system.
📦 Installation
- Download and import Faster Leaves
- Activate the pack in your world
- Enter the world
- Chop down a tree normally
That's it.
There are no complicated menus or commands required.
🍃 Small Addon, Big Quality-of-Life Improvement
Faster Leaves does one thing:
Make chopping trees less annoying.
Cut the logs, let the leaves clean themselves up, collect your drops and continue playing.
