Caveat Mod (1.20.1) – Rest Beside Campfires and Recover Lost Gear

Caveat Mod expands mob behavior and brings handy tweaks to everyday gameplay. This mod lets you interact with animals and blocks in fresh ways, making your survival world feel much more lively. It also adds helpful survival features like gravestones on death and extra info on tools.

Features:

Mob Interactions and Behaviors:

• Tamed wolves, cats, and parrots can be petted by shift-right-clicking them with an empty hand.
• Players can cure additional zombie variants beyond standard zombie villagers.
• Slimes and magma cubes grow larger when fed slimeballs or magma cream.
• Aquatic mobs can breathe air when given a Water Breathing potion effect.
• Llamas can be steered using a carrot on a stick.
• Cats and polar bears go fishing when standing in water.
• Foxes can pick up and use many different items from your world.
• Rare boss Phantoms can spawn with a chance to drop an Elytra upon defeat.
• Villagers can ride on rideable mobs for easier transport.

World and Block Tweaks:

• Anvils can be repaired directly using iron nuggets, iron ingots, or iron blocks.
• Campfires grant health regeneration to nearby players, and beds heal you while sleeping.
• Double doors open together automatically when interacted with.
• Lit TNT can be disarmed safely using shears.
• Path blocks grant players a slight walking speed boost.
• Stonecutters deal damage to players and mobs standing on them.
• Players drop a gravestone holding their items upon death.

Item and Utility Changes:

• Clocks display the in-game time, total day count, and moon phase.
• Compasses display coordinates alongside the direction you face.
• Maps show your current coordinates, biome name, and weather status.
• Item frames turn invisible when splashed with an Invisibility potion.
• Full netherite armor grants brief fire resistance when exposed to fire or lava.
• Armor stands show arms by default and can swap full armor sets with shift-right-click.
• Double-tapping sneak lets players sit down on any flat ground.

How to Use:

1. Double-tap the Sneak key to sit down anywhere on the ground.
2. Shift-right-click tamed pets with an empty hand to pet them.
3. Use shears on primed TNT to defuse it before it explodes.
4. Throw an Invisibility potion at an item frame to hide its border.
