Turn your Minecraft items into a real risk vs. reward gamble with Item Upgrader!

The addon adds a special Upgrader item. Right-click it to open the upgrade interface, place the item you want to risk into the left slot, choose your desired target item, and the addon automatically calculates your success chance.

Then press UPGRADE and watch the wheel. If the marker lands inside the winning zone, your item is upgraded. If it misses, your offered item is gone. 

🎲 Risk Your Items

Every upgrade has its own calculated percentage. The more valuable your offered item is compared with the target item, the better your odds become.

This means you can try upgrades such as:

• Resources → rare items
• Lower-tier gear → stronger equipment
• Valuable materials → difficult-to-obtain rewards
• Large amounts of resources → items such as an Elytra
• And many more combinations
  

 

⚙️ Automatic Item Values

The addon does not simply assign random values to every item.

Instead, it calculates item values by following their actual Minecraft recipes back to their raw materials. It supports different recipe types including:

• Crafting
• Smelting
• Blasting
• Smoking
• Campfire cooking
• Stonecutting
• Smithing

Because of this system, the upgrade chances are based on what the items are actually worth.

🧩 Works With Modded Items

If a modded item has a valid recipe, Item Upgrader can automatically calculate its value.

That means additional compatibility patches are generally not needed just to give recipe-based items a value.

🛠️ Damaged Tools Are Worth Less

Used tools and equipment do not keep their full value.

Their calculated value is reduced depending on how much durability remains, so heavily damaged equipment cannot be traded as if it were brand new.

📊 Calculated Upgrade Chances

The basic success chance is based on:

0.9 × (your item's value ÷ target item's value)

So choosing an expensive target with a cheap offer can result in a risky upgrade, while offering something closer in value gives you much better odds.
