Alcohol

Introduction

Alcohol is a feature-rich server plugin inspired by Let's Do Brewery and Let's Do Vinery. It brings a complete industry chain to your server, from crop farming → ingredient processing → brewing → aging → drinking.


Core Features

• 50+ Drinks Beers, whiskies, wines, aged wines, grape juices, apple juices and more. Every drink has its own appearance, effects and brewing recipe.
• Complete Farming System Corn, cherries, grapes (with 8 biome variants), supporting natural growth, bone meal acceleration, bee pollination, and custom drops.
• Multiple Custom Machines Cooking Pot, Brewing Box, Apple Press, Aging Barrel, Grape Basin and Bar Music Player. Each machine has its own GUI and progress mechanics.
• Brewing and Aging Mechanics Produce drinks with the Brewing Box, then improve their quality in the Aging Barrel. Brewing involves pressure management, fuel consumption and quality degradation.
• Rich Drinking Effects Vanilla potion effects plus custom special effects (Climb, Water Walker, Lava Walker, Catgirl, MaoDie, etc.), with cooldowns and notifications.
• Recipe Viewer and Item Give GUI Use "/alcohol recipe" to view recipes and crafting methods for all machines, and "/alcohol give" to quickly obtain plugin items.
• Villager Trades Farmer villagers sell cherries, without affecting vanilla trades.
• Persistence Containers, plants, special effects, GUI page numbers and other data are restored automatically after a restart.
• Multi-language Support Built-in English and Simplified Chinese, with support for adding more languages via custom files or contribute your region's language.

Installation

Requirements

• Server: Paper 26.2 or later
• Java: Java 25
• Dependency: NoteBlockAPI 1.7.0+ (for the Bar Music Player)

Installation Steps

1. Download the dependency Place "NoteBlockAPI-1.7.0.jar" into your server's "plugins/" directory.
2. Download the plugin Place "Alcohol.jar" into your server's "plugins/" directory.
3. Start the server On first startup, the plugin creates its data directory and configuration files under "plugins/Alcohol/".
4. Add custom songs (optional) Place ".nbs" song files into "plugins/Alcohol/songs/", then run "/alcohol reload" to load them.
5. Verify the installation Run "/alcohol help" in game. If the help list appears, the installation was successful.

⚠ Tip
On first startup, the plugin generates "data.yml", "effects.yml", "config.yml" and the "songs/" directory.


Configuration

Data Files

• data.yml Stores the state of cooking pots, brewing boxes, apple presses, aging barrels, grape basins, corn, grapes, cherry trees, etc. Saved: auto-saved every 5 minutes + saved on shutdown
• effects.yml Stores player special effects, actionbar display state, and hidden cobweb coordinates Saved: immediately on change + every 30 seconds as a fallback
• config.yml Plugin language settings (default-locale) Saved: read by the plugin; edited by the administrator
• songs/ Stores ".nbs" song files, loaded automatically into the Bar Music Player Saved: read-only

Adding Songs

1. Create or download ".nbs" files with Note Block Studio.
2. Place the files into "plugins/Alcohol/songs/".
3. Run "/alcohol reload" or restart the server.
4. Open the Bar Music Player GUI and your new songs will appear.

Backup Recommendations

• data.yml — weekly
• effects.yml — weekly
• config.yml — not necessary
• songs/ — one-time (unless manually modified)

⚠ Warning

• Do not edit "data.yml" / "effects.yml" by hand — YAML syntax errors will cause data to fail loading.
• Old data remains compatible when upgrading the plugin; there is no need to wipe it.
• Deleting "data.yml" will lose all container and plant data, so proceed with caution.

General Commands

• /alcohol help — show the help list (no permission required)
• /alcohol recipe — open the main recipe GUI (alcohol.recipe)
• /alcohol recipe <machine> craft — view recipes / crafting methods for a machine (alcohol.recipe)
• /alcohol give — open the item give GUI (alcohol.give)
• /alcohol give <player> <item> <amount> — give an item to the specified player (alcohol.give)
• /alcohol reload — reload the plugin and songs (alcohol.reload)
• /alcohol kill <CatGirl|MaoDie> — remove leftover Catgirl / MaoDie entities (alcohol.kill)
• /alcohol refresh all — rebuild item names in player inventories or machines (alcohol.refresh)

Permission Nodes

• alcohol.recipe — view recipes (default: all players)
• alcohol.give — obtain / give items (default: OP)
• alcohol.reload — reload the plugin (default: OP)
• alcohol.kill — remove leftover entities (default: OP)
• alcohol.refresh — rebuild items (default: OP)
