Bring real bears to Minecraft Bedrock. 17 real-life species roam the world, each with its own look depending on the biome. They warn you before they attack, raid beehives, catch fish, sleep at night and raise their cubs in hidden dens.

Each species has its own markings, like the moon bear's white crescent, the sun bear's gold chest patch and the spectacled bear's eye rings.

Behaviour

• Bluff charge: get within 12 blocks and a bear rears up and roars at you. Back off and it lets you go. Stay close and it charges.
• Protective mothers: hurt a cub and every adult nearby comes after you, stronger and faster.
• Honey raids: bears always go for a full beehive nearby, even bee nests up in trees. They sit down and scoop out the honey while the bees sting them.
• Fishing: bears wade into water and swipe at fish. Most catches get eaten, but some get flung onto the shore for you to grab.
• Berries: hungry bears strip sweet berry bushes.
• Sleeping: every bear sleeps at night and snores. Sneak past and you're safe; get too close and it wakes up angry.
• Fast swimmers: bears swim almost as fast as they walk.
• Cubs: breed bears with sweet berries, glow berries, honeycomb or honey bottles. Cubs keep their parent's look and grow up over time.

Animations

Fully animated with jointed legs and a moving jaw:

• Walk, run and swim
• A two-paw swipe attack and a rear-up roar
• Sitting down to eat honey, plus eating berries and fish
• Fishing and sleeping
• Idles: sniffing the air, standing up to look around, shaking off, stretching and yawning, sitting and licking a paw

Bear Dens

Hidden dens appear across the world about as often as villages, each with a mother bear and 1–2 cubs inside.

• Outside: a grassy mound with boulders and a rocky entrance with hanging roots, a trampled path, a claw-marked tree and berry bushes.
• Inside: a sunken chamber with a bear nest, roots through the ceiling, old bones, a skull, mushrooms and a stolen honeycomb.
• Three styles: forest, snowy and badlands.

• Beef: 1–3 (cooked if the bear was on fire)
• Bear Pelt: crafts into 3 leather
• Bear Claw: crafts into 3 bone meal
