Stable Paper Enderpearl Loading

A datapack that makes chunk loading and unloading more reliable on paper servers and adds delayed chunk unloading upon pearls dissapearing.

What versions does the pack support?

There are currently builds for 26.2 and 26.3. Future versions are likely to receive support as I actively use this pack myself.

What exactly does it do?

This datapack forceloads the chunk an enderpearl first appears in. It will then remain forceloaded untill the pearl dissappears, either when it lands or when the owner leaves the server. By default it will wait 10 seconds after the pearl is gone to remove the force loading. This delay is configurable, with a minimum of 2 gameticks due to technical limitations. Safety is build in that overrides your chosen delay if it is below that. The datapack uses a single marker entity per chunk loaded this way, located at y -64 in the chunk corner, to track the chunks status.

What settings does the pack offer?

• Configurable unoad delay: Set the unload delay with

/scoreboard players set #EPLscores epl_unloaddelay 200, replacing 200 with your chosen value in gameticks (your desired seconds times 20, minimum of 2).

• Chunk repair: If you ever run into chunks that are unnecessarily forceloaded or fail to forceload, you can reset all marked chunk using /function pearl_loader:admin/fix_chunks. This will remove all the forceloaded chunks and attempt to re-forceload them and resets their markers. This is best used when as few pearls as possible are present and chunks unloaded by this that arent otherwise loaded (like by a player) might not be reloaded.
• Removal cleanup: When you wish to stop using this datapack, run /function pearl_loader:admin/remove_datapack to clean up all the forceloaded chunks, marker entities en scoreboard objectives belonging to this pack. You can then delete the zip file from the world.
