Bowcasting
Give your bows and crossbows a little more magical oomph. ✨🏹
Bowcasting is a client-side Fabric mod that adds animated magical effects to bows, crossbows, and fired projectiles. Charge a ranged weapon to summon multi-stage spell circles, then send arrows flying with animated rune trails.
✨ Features
🔮 Animated Spell Effects
Charging a bow or crossbow summons a multi-stage magical effect using custom animated textures.
The effect follows the weapon's position and movement in both first- and third-person, including viewmodel transformations.
🏹 Projectile Rune Trails
Fired arrows can leave behind animated rune particles as they travel through the world.
The runes expand, rotate, and fade over time, creating a magical trail whose spacing naturally changes with projectile speed.
💡 Dynamic Lighting
Active spell effects can emit dynamic world light when LambDynamicLights is installed.
LambDynamicLights is completely optional. Without it, all visual effects still work normally, but they will not emit dynamic light.
🎚️ Configuration
Bowcasting includes an optional in-game configuration screen through Mod Menu and Cloth Config.
Available settings include:
- Bow Effects: Enables or disables spell effects for bows.
- Crossbow Effects: Enables or disables spell effects for crossbows.
- Projectile Effects: Enables or disables rune effects on fired projectiles.
- Projectile Particle Style: Selects the visual style used for rune particles.
