Lucky Ore — four colorful rainbow ore variants

🌈 Lucky Ore — Rainbow Ores & Random Rewards

A little color. A little mystery. A new reason to keep mining.

Bring a rainbow twist to your Minecraft Bedrock adventures! Lucky Ore introduces four animated ore variants with colorful crystals, distinct stone backgrounds, and their own random reward pools. Search the upper mining layers, explore desert sandstone, or head down toward the bottom of the Overworld for a chance at more valuable treasures.

Every ore you mine with the correct pickaxe selects a reward. Will you find useful building resources, a handful of diamonds, or something rarer?

✨ What Makes Lucky Ore Different?

⛏️ Meet the Four Lucky Ores

Ore Where to Look Appearance Required Pickaxe
Surface Lucky Ore Stone in the Overworld outside desert biomes; generation centers at Y 8–72. Classic gray stone with rainbow crystals. Any pickaxe.
Desert Lucky Ore Sand and sandstone in desert biomes; generation centers at Y 48–80. A warm sandstone background with colorful crystals. Any pickaxe.
Deep Lucky Ore Deepslate and stone underground; generation centers at Y -52–0. Dark deepslate with animated rainbow crystals. Iron, diamond, or netherite.
Abyssal Lucky Ore Deepslate near the bottom of the Overworld; generation centers at Y -60–-54. A bedrock-inspired background with rainbow crystals. Iron, diamond, or netherite.

Small veins may extend slightly beyond these center ranges. Abyssal Lucky Ore is a mineable custom block; its generation never replaces real bedrock.

🪨 A Colorful Find in the Upper Layers

Gray stone keeps the familiar Minecraft look while the animated crystals make a Lucky Ore discovery stand out.

🏜️ Treasure Beneath the Desert

The Desert variant swaps gray stone for sandstone and offers its own selection of rewards, including gold, emeralds, and a small chance of a golden apple.

🌌 Keep Exploring the Depths

The Deep and Abyssal variants have separate reward pools, with rare prizes including enchanted golden apples and, from Abyssal ore, netherite scrap. Bring an iron, diamond, or netherite pickaxe for these two variants.

🎁 What Can You Get?

Each correctly mined ore chooses one prize from its own reward pool and then rolls the quantity. You do not receive the entire list from one block.

Variant Possible Rewards
Surface Coal, raw copper, raw iron, lapis lazuli, raw gold, or diamonds.
Desert Gold ingots, emeralds, iron ingots, lapis lazuli, diamonds, or golden apples.
Deep Redstone, iron ingots, gold ingots, diamonds, emeralds, or enchanted golden apples.
Abyssal Diamonds, emeralds, gold ingots, golden apples, netherite scrap, or enchanted golden apples.

Abyssal highlights: a 5% chance of netherite scrap and a 1% chance of an enchanted golden apple per successful reward selection. Deep Lucky Ore also has a 1% enchanted golden apple chance.

Using the wrong tool does not award a prize. The ore is consumed when mined, rather than dropping another Lucky Ore block.

🍀 How Does Fortune Work?

Lucky Ore uses a custom Fortune bonus that adds items to the same selected prize. It increases quantity without changing the chance of selecting a rare reward.

Enchantment Quantity Bonus
No Fortune Normal quantity.
Fortune I +1 item.
Fortune II +2 items.
Fortune III +3 items.

Example: when Abyssal Lucky Ore selects diamonds, it drops 2–4 diamonds normally or 5–7 with Fortune III.

Silk Touch does not recover the ore block in this version; it still uses the normal reward pool.

📦 Installation

  1. Download and open the .mcaddon file in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
  2. Activate both the Lucky Ore Behavior Pack and the Lucky Ore Resource Pack in your world.
  3. Start a new world or explore previously ungenerated terrain to find naturally generated ores.
  4. Bring the appropriate pickaxe and start mining!

Existing worlds: the add-on does not add ores retroactively to chunks that were already generated. Travel into new terrain after activating the pack.

All four variants are also available in the Creative inventory for builds and testing. No scripts or experimental feature switches are requested by the pack.
