Chao Garden Mod (1.21.11, 1.21.1) – Train and Evolve Virtual Pets

Chao Garden Mod brings virtual pets and private island sanctuaries to Minecraft. Players collect eggs, hatch little creatures, and take care of their daily needs on a peaceful ocean island. The mod tracks happiness, hunger, and individual stats as each pet levels up different skills. Every pet develops unique personality traits, physical forms, and alignment based on how you raise it.

Features:

• Private Garden Islands: Players craft a special key to unlock a sandstone portal that teleports them to their own peaceful ocean island where hostile mobs do not spawn.
• Hatching and Care: Chao hatch from eggs inside the garden, bond with their caretakers, and require regular food to stay full and happy.
• Skill Training: Feeding specific foods levels up Run, Swim, Fly, Power, and Stamina, which changes how pets move from crawling to running, swimming, and flying.
• Alignment and Evolution: Gentle care turns pets into Hero Chao, while rough handling creates Dark Chao, evolving into new forms based on their highest trained skill.
• Mob DNA Forms: Feeding dropped mob items transforms pets into forms matching vanilla creatures like creepers, cows, bees, and the Ender Dragon.
• Breeding and Genetics: Adult Chao pair up to pass down custom colors, favorite foods, stats, and hidden recessive traits to baby Chao.
• Trained pets can duplicate recipes at custom worktables or assemble structures from blueprint files.
• Personalities give each pet specific quirks, such as dancing, waving, sleeping in beds, or running inside during rainstorms.
• Caretaker tools include a computer storage terminal, a shop router, and a crystal scanner to inspect hidden stats and genes.
• Players can carry their pet on their back or have them follow in single-file lines across different dimensions.
• Pets do not die permanently and instead rebirth as babies while keeping their bonds and memories intact.

How to Use:

1. Mine Chao Ore underground between Y -24 and Y 64 with a stone pickaxe or better.
2. Smelt the ore into Chao Bars and craft a Chao Key.
3. Build a sandstone portal frame of any size, similar to a Nether portal.
4. Right-click the portal frame with your Chao Key to open the portal, then walk through to your private island.
5. Hatch an egg, name your Chao, and feed it items to begin training its skills.
6. Press the pause key to open the How-To-Chao guide whenever you need extra instructions.
