Back when I fiddled with server management, I was upset that I could never find any good particle effect plugins. Many lurked behind a large paywall or simply did not look very elegant.
My solution was to make my own! Now, several years later, I'm proud to share CheezTrails with all of you! Enjoy!

Note that this project is Open Sourced under a GNU V3.0 License. You may find the link to its source code below!
Features:
- 32 different particle effects!
- Different Stand and Walk animations for each trail!
- Fully customizable GUI, Trail Names, and Trail Icons!
- Fully configurable trail feedback messages (enable, disable, etc)!
- Change trail tick delay on the fly with a simple command! (Shorter tick delay creates smoother animations, but requires more memory)
- Editor GUI to make Trail GUI setup even easier - change the look of the Trail Selection menu on the fly!
- Customizable permissions for each trail!
- Save active player trails upon logout and auto-activate upon login
- New trails??
Getting Started:
Simply drag and drop CheezTrails.jar into your server's plugin folder and restart!
Commands:
/trail - Opens the Trail menu.
/trail help - Displays all CheezTrail commands.
/trail [TrailName] - Activates a trail.
/trail off - Deactivates current trail.
/trail list - Lists all available CheezTrails.
Admin Commands:
/trail set [Player] [Trail] - Temporarily give a player a particle effect. Bypasses permission checking, but does not give the player permanent access.
/trail off [Player] - Forcefully turns off a player's particle effect.
/trail edit - Opens the Trail GUI Editor, where the look of the main GUI can be edited.
/trail save - Saves current changes with /trail edit to the config file. Must be run or else the changes won't save after a server restart!
/trail reload - Reloads the config file.
/trail restart - Reloads the config file, but only to update the tick delay of particle effects. Shorter tick delay creates smoother animations, but requires more memory.
Permissions:
Each trail permission is defined in the config file and defaults to trails.[TrailName].
