A cunning creature that learns from players stalks the world in The Howler, an add-on that needs Experimental Features turned on for its scripting APIs.
The Howler can learn to break blocks, climb or dig to reach its prey, and force players to drop items if they lean on shields or totems. It moves from curious observation to outright hostility, mimics animal sounds, leaves footprints near farms and may set up a den close to a base. The add-on also brings the Howler Cage Trap, the Animal Skeleton trap and the Skeleton Cow Trap, along with a Wolf Corpse and a Pig Corpse as signs of its hunts. An Indicator, a Trapped status and the Flee Path mechanic add to the survival challenge.
