The hollow grin

No one knows what lurks beneath the endless black hood of The Hollow Grin. Its body is swallowed by a cloak of living shadows, so dark that even moonlight seems to disappear against it. Two pale, glowing eyes stare out from beneath the hood, unblinking and emotionless, watching every movement you make. Its face is stained with dark crimson marks, as though something terrible happened beneath the hood long ago. A wide, unnatural grin stretches across its face, revealing rows of crooked, bone-white teeth. Beneath that grin, a blood-red mouth hangs open in a silent, mocking smile. It never runs. It never needs to. It simply appears closer every time you look away. Those unfortunate enough to encounter it say they first hear a faint scraping sound, followed by a quiet, distorted giggle. Then everything goes silent. No birds. No wind. No breathing. And when its glowing eyes finally appear at the end of the hallway, you realize something horrifying: It has been following you for much longer than you thought. The Hollow Grin doesn't hunt for food. It feeds on fear, growing stronger with every terrified heartbeat. Its face is the last thing its victims ever see, and its terrible smile is the last thing they remember. If you see two glowing eyes in the darkness, don't scream. Don't run. And whatever you do, don't smile back. Because if The Hollow Grin knows you've seen it, it's already coming for you. ☠
