CustomTrees
With CustomTrees, I want to give you more variety when growing trees or generating a new world. A single sapling can grow into a different shape, while larger sapling formations give you room for much bigger trees. There are shrubs and hedges for gardens too.

• Custom trees from single saplings and 2x2, 3x3 and 5x5 formations.
• Nine tree species with four crown styles each.
• Shrubs, connected hedges and pruning for player-owned gardens.
• Luminous and coal trees grown with catalysts, plus tagged saplings.
• Optional tree replacement in new chunks, for vanilla and Iris worlds.
• Particle previews and growth events that protection plugins can handle.
• English and German guides, with an optional illustrated web guide through Core.

Requirements
Java 25, Paper/Purpur 1.21.8 or newer and Vystorm Core. The download includes Core 0.28.1. No client mod needed. Iris, CoreProtect and SmoothTimber are optional integrations.

Installation
Stop the server and back up your worlds. Extract the download, then put CustomTrees-1.25.3-26.2.jar and the included Core dependency in plugins/. If you already have a newer Core installed, keep that version; do not install a second Core JAR.
Start once to create the config, choose the settings you want, then restart. Try world-generation settings in a test world first. Do not hot-reload.

Commands and permissions
Start with /customtrees. COMMANDS.md in the download lists the command arguments and permission defaults.

World generation
Tree replacement applies to new chunks. Existing, previously touched chunks and protected Vystorm Core regions are left alone. The optional web guide and client views need their corresponding Core features enabled.

Compatibility
The 2026-10-22 checks covered Paper 1.21.8, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, plus Purpur 1.21.8 and 26.3, including restarts. Java 25 is required. The -26.2 file suffix is not the minimum Minecraft version. Plain Spigot and Folia support are not claimed. Optional web/client combinations were not part of those checks.

Support and license
If you run into a problem, post in the discussion with your server, Core and CustomTrees versions and what you did before it happened. A small example config helps; please remove private details from logs.
CustomTrees is MIT licensed. The license is included in the download.
