Safely reset Minecraft structures without regenerating chunks

StructureCycle restores structures to a captured clean state without replacing chunks or entire regions. It discovers vanilla and data-pack structures from the live server registry, captures their exact pieces, backs up the current structure before every reset, and lets administrators roll the reset back when needed.

Why StructureCycle?

Structures on public servers are often looted or damaged once and then remain empty forever. Regenerating chunks can destroy player builds, change terrain, or replace far more of the world than intended. StructureCycle targets the structure pieces themselves so administrators can refresh content while protecting the surrounding world.

Features

Compatibility

One unchanged JAR supports Minecraft 1.21.4 through 26.3 on:

Folia is not supported. Install StructureCycle on each backend world server, not on Velocity or BungeeCord.

Minecraft 1.21.4–1.21.11 requires Java 21 or newer. Minecraft 26.1–26.3 requires Java 25 or newer.

Installation

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Put StructureCycle.jar in the server's plugins folder.
  3. Start the server.
  4. Grant administrators structurecycle.admin, or use operator permissions.
  5. Run /sc to open the structure browser.

No dependencies are required. Existing worlds are supported, and structures are indexed as their chunks load. If a nearby structure has not appeared yet, stand inside it and run /sc scan.

First baseline

Capture a structure before players loot or modify it. The state at capture time becomes the clean state used by future resets.

  1. Visit the structure and run /sc scan if needed.
  2. Open /sc and select the structure.
  3. Preview the affected boundaries.
  4. Select Capture baseline and confirm.
  5. Move every player outside the displayed safety area before resetting.

Villages, strongholds, and mineshafts are disabled by default because players commonly build in them. You can deliberately change their policies in config.yml or override an individual structure through the GUI or commands.

Main commands

Command Purpose
/sc Open the structure browser
/sc scan Discover structures intersecting the current chunk
/sc inspect [id] Inspect a nearby or named structure
/sc preview [id] Preview the affected piece boundaries
/sc capture [id] Capture or replace the clean baseline
/sc reset <id> Stage a safe reset
/sc rollback <id> Stage restoration of the newest backup
/sc confirm Confirm a staged world-changing operation
/sc mode <id> <default|disabled|manual|automatic> Set a reset mode override
/sc cooldown <id> <default|duration> Set an automatic cooldown override
/sc automatic <on|off> Toggle automatic resets globally
/sc reload Reload the configuration

Automatic resets are disabled globally on first install. StructureCycle backups protect individual reset operations, but they are not a replacement for regular full-world backups.
