WHAT IS AGES?
WHAT IS AGES?
Ages bring civilization-building, progression, economics, politics, and player-driven development to your server.
Players work together to establish and grow civilizations, advance through different ages, construct specialized buildings, develop production chains, manage resources, and decide how their society will function.
But Ages isn't designed to force every civilization down the same path.
The server provides the framework and systems. The players decide what to do with them.
Will a civilization focus on industry and trade? Build a powerful military? Develop its infrastructure? Establish a strong government? Pursue diplomacy, expand its influence, or wage war against its rivals?
Those decisions belong to the players.
BUILD THROUGH THE AGES
Ages currently feature five stages of civilization progression:
- Neolithic
- Tribal
- Village
- Medieval
- Industrial
With 63 default building definitions currently available, civilizations have plenty of ways to develop their settlements and establish their infrastructure.

EVERY CIVILIZATION IS DIFFERENT
This is what makes Ages different.
Ages provides the systems, but it doesn't dictate how players must use them.
One civilization might become an industrial powerhouse built around production and trade. Another might prioritize military strength and territorial expansion. A third might develop a stable government, focus on infrastructure, and pursue peaceful relationships with its neighbors.
Even on the same server, civilizations can develop different identities, priorities, political structures, economies, and histories.
The direction of each civilization is determined by the people playing it.
No two civilizations need to be alike.
BUILT FOR SERVERS
Ages is designed to be highly configurable and modular.
Ages is designed to be highly configurable and modular.
Servers can customize the systems that shape their world without being locked into a single progression path or predefined civilization structure.
A large part of Ages is controlled through editable YAML configuration files, allowing you to customize things such as:
- Age progression and requirements.
- Building definitions and construction requirements.
- Production recipes, resources, and production times.
- Building upgrades and associated costs.
- Government types, roles, and permissions.
- Economic systems and policies.
Whether you want a carefully balanced civilization experience or a heavily customized world with its own rules, Ages gives you the tools to shape that experience.
