Swamp Bup

Swamp Bup is a Minecraft Bedrock Edition addon by gast7452 that adds a brand new creature to the game: a small, cute mushroom-like mob that lives in the swamps. The Swamp Bup is a peaceful little friend with a red mushroom cap, a round body and tiny legs, and it is made to feel like a natural part of the swamp. It has its own custom model and its own animations, so it idles, walks and reacts when it gets hurt in a smooth and lively way.

You can find Swamp Bups in the wild while exploring swamps and mangrove swamps. They spawn in small groups on grass, mud and dirt, wander around on their own, and look at you with curiosity when you come close. They never attack anyone, so they are completely safe to be around, and if something hurts them they simply panic and run away.

The main idea of the addon is that you can make a Swamp Bup your pet. To tame one, you just need a mushroom. Hold a red mushroom or a brown mushroom and right-click the Swamp Bup, and it instantly becomes your friend. Wild Swamp Bups are also interested in mushrooms, so if you walk around holding one, nearby Swamp Bups will follow you, which makes it easy to lead them where you want.

Once a Swamp Bup is tamed, it behaves a lot like a loyal dog. It follows you wherever you go, keeps close to you while you explore, and walks around calmly when you stop. It never fights and never harms mobs or players, it simply exists next to you as a cute companion. A tamed Swamp Bup will not disappear on its own, so you can keep it with you for as long as you like.

You can also tell your Swamp Bup to sit. Right-click your tamed pet and it sits down on the ground with a special sitting animation, lowering its body and relaxing, with a gentle breathing motion so it looks alive even when it is not moving. While it is sitting it stays exactly where you left it, so you can leave it at your base or next to your house. Right-click it again and it stands up and starts following you once more.

Swamp Bup also comes with a spawn egg, so you can find it in the creative inventory and place it anywhere you want, even outside of swamps. When you first join a world with the addon enabled, a short welcome message from the author thanks you for downloading the mod.

The addon is lightweight, adds only the Swamp Bup and everything that belongs to it, and does not change anything else in your game, so it is easy to combine with other addons. It works on Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.20.80 and newer and does not require any experimental features. To install it, just open the downloaded file with Minecraft and enable both the behavior pack and the resource pack in your world.
