Item Render Optimizer is a lightweight client-side performance mod designed to improve FPS when large numbers of dropped items are visible at once.
Minecraft can become extremely demanding when thousands of dropped item entities are rendered simultaneously. This mod reduces that rendering workload by dynamically limiting how many dropped items are visually rendered when large item piles are present.
Features
- Significantly improves FPS around large item piles
- Dynamically reduces item rendering as the number of visible items increases
- Keeps the actual items and their functionality unchanged
- Does not change item pickup or item merging behavior
- Designed for situations with hundreds or thousands of dropped items
The mod becomes increasingly aggressive when more dropped items are present, allowing your client to spend less time rendering individual item models.
Example
Without Item Render Optimizer:
Thousands of dropped items can cause severe FPS drops when looking directly at them.
With Item Render Optimizer:
The mod reduces the number of item models that need to be rendered, allowing significantly higher FPS while the items remain in the world.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.8-26.3
- Fabric Only
This mod is focused specifically on reducing the rendering cost of large numbers of dropped item entities. It does not attempt to fix server-side TPS or entity simulation lag.
Performance
Performance improvements depend on your hardware and the number of dropped items being rendered. The largest improvements are expected in areas containing hundreds or thousands of visible item entities.
