A fully optimized, achievement-friendly minimap comes with Advanced Minimap, an add-on that makes navigation easier across all dimensions. It uses scripting APIs, so Experimental Features must be enabled, and both the behavior and resource packs should be applied.
It draws the surroundings live and shows other players, animals and hostile creatures as they move. Lighting, shadows and depth give terrain and entities a three-dimensional feel. The display can be toggled with a button on mobile or with F8 on PC. There are two modes: Surface Mode gives a top-down view from the sky to the ground, and Cave Mode scans down from the player’s Y-level to show the passages below, which helps with mining.
