Schism (Slightly Better Borders)
Minecraft Java resource pack. Download on the author's site.
⬇ DownloadThis pack simply applies an after effect and does not change core shaders at all. It checks for 'bends' in the depth and overlays a border. The border opacity fades decently with distance, so distant areas are still parseable. I found it frustrating how some other packs that appear to use a similar technique don't handle distances as well as I'd liked, so I made this, which manages to do it in a way I think is better.
If folks have ideas on how to improve it, or have a request that isn't too annoying to implement, feel free to let me know.
The first version of this used AI for a bit of things I didn't want to learn myself, but I have since learned how to do those bits myself, and I affirm that no generative AI has been used to generate any of the content in this pack.
