Feasts Of The Fallout: Iodized & Enriched
A 1.21.1 NeoForge port and expansion of Feasts Of The Fallout: Iodized by forestwastakenn. A Fallout-inspired mod focused on creatures, crops, and cooking for survival in the wasteland.
About
This is a community port of the original 1.20.1 Forge mod to NeoForge 1.21.1, with quality-of-life features layered on top. The original mod can be found on CurseForge. This port exists to bring it forward to modern Minecraft.
Creatures
The wasteland is inhabited by 80+ creatures across the Fallout canon, each with life stages and breeding mechanics:
- Brahmin: two-headed cattle, a reliable meat source
- Radchickens: easy to farm with razorgrain
- Radstags: skittish prey, drop antlers
- Bighorners: sturdy mountain goats
- Iguanas: fed with tarberry, must be contained
- Molerats: strong in numbers
- Bonzai Hogs: drop lard for crafting
- Pigrats: reproduce very fast, ugly source of pork
- Radbits: reproduce very fast, ugly source of rabbit
- Geckos: young transform into gold, green, or fire breeds based on diet
- Squirrels: the hillbillies' choice of meat
- Mirelurks: territorial crustaceans, forage for algae
- Hermit Crabs: forages for iron garbage
- Deathclaws: rural and urban variants, very menacing
- Yao Guai: mutated bears
- Cazadors: giant venomous wasps, Mojave classic
- Stingwings: aerial and venomous
- Radscorpions: dangerous
- Radroaches: free meat and milk
- Bloatflies: free meat and maggots
- Giant Mantis: ambush predators
- Giant Aphids: farmable for honey and sugar
- Gravebugs: yummy bug meat
- Wanamingos: alien mutants, almost extinct
- Humphrey: big and ugly, and bigly ugly
- Commonwealth Protectrons: craftable robotic helpers
- Wasteland Citizens and Wanderers: NPC traders
Most small offspring can be right-clicked to grab. Feast items are fed to babies that grow into larger forms.
Crops
Crops grow on Desperate Soil, a nutrient-poor soil that wasteland plants thrive in. Crops include:
- Common Carrot, Razorgrain, Tarberry, Acrid Algae
- Jalapeño, Pinto Beans, Silt Beans, Yucca
- Common Onion, Tato, Brassica
Each crop's seeds are obtained from specific creatures, creating a farming ecosystem tied to the wildlife.
Foods
A deep cooking system with 200+ food and drink items. From Brahmin Steak and Radchicken Noodle Soup to Mirelurk Cake, Cazador Cooked, Sourdough, Tacos, and various canned goods. Plus a bottlecap and pre-war dollar currency system for the agriculture unit vending machines.
What's New in the Port
- Natural spawning: creatures spawn across vanilla biomes, distributed ecologically (plains, forests, deserts, jungles, swamps, caves, and more)
- In-game config screen: toggle natural spawning and hostility from the Mods menu, no config file editing required
- Canonical hostile AI: based on Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas, 4, and 76. When enabled, deathclaws, yao guai, cazadors, mirelurks, and more will hunt the player on sight. Passive creatures remain passive.
- Balanced combat: damage values scaled to Fallout canon; many threats are now truly terrifying.
Both natural spawning and hostility are off by default. Enable them via the Config button in the Mods menu.
Compatibility
- Requires: NeoForge 1.21.1
- Optional: JEI (for recipe browsing)
- Standalone: Works with vanilla Minecraft, no other mods required
- AshenWorld integration: Coming in a future update
