Floating Item Display

Floating Item Display ^{[Beta v1.0.0]}

SNEAK+INTERACT with an upwards facing ITEM FRAME to create a Floating Item Display

• The item frame must be PLACED on the top face of a block
• LEFT CLICK on the displayed to item to drop it

When you display an item, it will float in place until it is removed. The displayed item will not be picked up by players/entities, will not despawn, and cannot be destroyed nor burned (see gallery!)

Optional Configuration ⚙️

Hide Floating Item Display Frames (Toggle)

• WHEN TRUE, creating a floating item display will make the supporting item frame invisible
• defaults to FALSE (visible item frames)

Require Lodestones (Toggle)

• WHEN TRUE, floating item displays can only be created above Lodestones
• defaults to FALSE (create displays on any block)

The config menu can be accessed at any time with the following command:

/dialog show @s floating_item_display:config 

^{just typing "/dialog" will get you enough autocomplete to easily find the config}

Continued Development 🤓

• going to be doing more extensive testing to make sure the current set of logic works as expected under more circumstances / scenarios before exiting beta
  ^{if you run into anything unexpected, pls send me an email!}
• will do more work on the backend to maximize compatibility with any other packs/mods
  ^{though I don't suspect there should be any realistic conflicts even in the current state}
• considering adding an interaction where right clicking the floating item display entity with a lingering potion would make the floating item emit the associated particles as a vanity option

can/will backport to older Minecraft versions after exiting beta
^{in the meantime, if there's a specific version you'd like this pack/mod backported to, shoot me an email!}

this pack is designed/polished to feel as though this were a vanilla mechanic
^{my hope is that everything proves as intuitive as one would expect!}
