A little more detail. Still Minecraft.
OdarIs is my take on Enhanced Vanilla. I use real materials as references and add detail without changing what makes each block recognizable. The original colors, shapes, and overall feel of Minecraft come first. If a texture stops looking like the block it's supposed to be, I've probably gone too far.
Alpha 0.2 - Halloween Update
Alpha 0.2 brings together Early Builds #01–#03 and the Halloween Special (#06). There's new foliage and terrain, all eight ores, more stone variants, pumpkins, cobwebs, torches, animated effects, rain and thunder sounds, particles, and Halloween-themed panoramas.
The Base Pack works on its own. Add-ons are there if you want more variation, but none are required.
Downloads: For the latest Alpha 0.2 files in all seven resolutions, use Modrinth. Check the version shown on the direct Planet Minecraft download before using it.
A Very Serious Patreon Warning
Please do not support OdarIs on Patreon.
If you enjoy waiting patiently for updates like a normal, well-adjusted Minecraft player,
I strongly advise you NOT to join my Patreon.
Unless, of course, you have a disturbing interest in getting new textures early, watching me, a grown man, spend an unreasonable amount of time making digital rocks look better, and then discussing those very same rocks with me on Discord.
If that sounds appealing to you, I'm afraid Patreon might be exactly what you're looking for.
I'm sorry.

Performance
Higher resolutions need more video memory, particularly with shaders or high render distances. If you're unsure where to start, try 128x or 256x and move up from there.
- Download your chosen resolution of OdarIs. For Alpha 0.2, see all available versions on Modrinth.
- Move the downloaded ZIP into your Minecraft resourcepacks folder. Do not extract it.
- In Minecraft, open Options > Resource Packs and enable OdarIs.
- If you use add-ons, place them above Base in the order shown above.
Compatibility
- Edition: Minecraft Java Edition.
- Mods: The Base Pack doesn't require OptiFine or any other mod.
- Shaders: Optional. Lighting, transparency, and weather may look different depending on the shader pack.
- Game versions: Check each download for its listed game versions. A missing compatibility warning doesn't guarantee every effect has been tested on every version.

About OdarIs
I started OdarIs because I wanted Minecraft to look a little richer without replacing its original art direction. Part of the idea goes back to the cancelled Super Duper Graphics Pack. I kept thinking about it and eventually decided to try making something myself.
A lot of the work is in the details: making textures, testing them in-game, checking how they tile, and making sure something that looks good at 2048x still works at 64x or 32x. I go back and redo older textures too, whenever I think they can be better.
It's a long-term project, and I'm building it a little at a time.

Found something that looks wrong? Let me know on Discord. A screenshot, Minecraft version, OdarIs resolution, and shader name (if used) are especially helpful.
Gallery screenshots were captured with Photon Shaders. Some images also show optional OdarIs add-ons.
